Yard is getting better. I' m a little shaky on the parallel. I' m not ready for the road test and they are wanting me go do the test tomorrow. I just talked to Joe the Director of Education and told him I'm not ready. He said that the test site is 4 hours away and I will get practice going down there. I have only 6 1/2 hours of driving. I'm at a crossroads now and need to make a decision. Do I show up tomorrow and take the test or don't show and go with plan B. I only have 3 times to take the road test in the State of Missouri. If you don't pass the 3rd time you have to wait another year. Plan B is Witte Bros. I have already filled out and application to take there school. I have heard decent things about them and they will teach me the right way. I would have to work with them for one year. So what should I do? Should I take the test tomorrow even though my road instructor said I'm not ready for the road or do I not show up because the school really does not care? I'm thinking about making a complaint to the Better Business Bureau. I would like everyone's opinion. Thank you.

If you don't pass tomorrow is your school going to work with you?I do think you should go tomorrow and with a positive attitude. If that's the only chance u get then most deffinately turn them in to the BBB.I would also turn them in to the FMCSA.All that money you paid and only 6.50 of driving you received, thats absolute crooks for ya.You're very smart for coming up with plan B.So what if Witte Bros wants a full yr out of you,one should stay that long anyway to gain the exp. While on your way to the DMV tomorrow do a lot of observing and ask questions. How many of you are going?

I did not pass the yard. I'm not upset because I knew that only doing 4 parallels, 4 alley docks and 6 1/2 hours of driving the school thinks I'm ready. lol. I'm not really upset at myself because I don't really think it is my fault from the lack of teaching from this school. I'm going to keep pressing forward and try to remain positive. -
Sorry to hear that ryfry but you already pretty much knew.Like you said it isn't your fault. You have a plan B in place so that's the main thing.

For what it's worth--at the Witte Bros school we spent all day, every day for 3 weeks doing maneuvers on the lot. We would do 4 parallels and alley docks before lunch.

I was on the road with instructor Joann. I had 1 hour of driving. She is by far the worse instructor here. I have not so many F-bombs in my life. All the students were flustered and did really bad because of her. I have seen students that were with me today do a lot better with another instructor. I had to ignore her or she would of brought me down. She should not be here. 2 days till my next CDL test. -
Hang in there you can do it.I thought you was completely done with school. What was bad about Joann?Hopefully you won't get her tomorrow.

She yelled a lot. Grab the steering wheel and she said a lot of F-bombs. She got everyone flustered. I should of recorded it and put it on YouTube to show how bad it was. I will go testing again on Tuesday

Wednesday December 10th, 2014 - Final Thoughts on MTC
I' m continuing my CDL education with a trucking company instead of MTC. MTC is not going to ruin this for me. I will press on and I will get my CDL. Most of the students in my class did not pass the second time and MTC wants additional 150.00 to go a third time. What is also upsetting is that there are military who is using there GI benefits to go to this school and not passing the CDL test. I absolutely do NOT recommended coming to MTC for the following reasons.
1. Instructors being 1 to 2 hours late everyday. (except for 2 instructors) Being 1 to 2 hours late everyday really cuts in to my 160 hours of training.
2. Half the instructors are very unprofessional and should not be training other students.
3. Trucks keep braking down due to really poor maintenance. - This also cuts in to my 160 hours of training.
4. Only getting 6 1/2 hours or road driving.
5. 15 students to 1 instructor ratio when teaching basic yard. Sometimes I have seen the classes 17 to 1 ratio. That is unacceptable.
6. Bad reputation with the CDL examiners. I have actually seen this in person. One examiner said - "You MTC students are never ready and always fail" I have also heard an examiner say to an MTC instructor. "Are you setting you students to fail today. You brought a 53 foot trailer to test in and they have been training in a 48s." The instructor's response - "It's MTC what do you expect.
7. MTC is not accredited with the Better Business Bureau and have many complaints.
I hope people read this, think twice before coming to this school and not make the same mistake I did.
Thank you everyone for your support.Last edited: Dec 10, 2014
