What kinda grasses are in your bales?

 

I’ve got lots of different levels.
1. Tifton 44 hybrid Bermuda fertilized and watered under a pivot. These are mostly 4x4x8 squares

rest is 5x6 rounds baled and wrapped with a 566 John Deere baler
. 2 mostly Bermuda with just a bit of crab grass fertilized and watered under an ol rain maker gun
3. Bermuda fescue and crab grass with a very tiny amount of Johnson grass in it. Fertilized once this spring.
4 all around junk quite a bit of Johnson grass, fescue, what’s left of winter wheat etc. just a if I can get it rolled it goes.

I’m gonna sprig some more Tifton, as we pick up some more ground. The family that’s rented our ground for years is starting to transition out so I think it will fit into my long term plan or retirement

Sitting in the cafe at the TTT in Tucson, one of my first trips to LA team. Hand wheeled up and around, stopped and walked in. Set down near Edgar and myself and asked if we knew ?? .Told him no. He had heard that man was working for Beneke. We told might be in the plant or local switching, but not on road. That led to talk of his having left Atlanta some 36 hours earlier and had to get on to wherever in CA ...1800 miles down already. He had been "movin"when moving...
That Acar sitting out there would make a boy want to hire in ; sharp, set back axle and raring to go. Prolly a Cummins, don't remember the HP or gears.
I think in the middle 50's, Autocar was the Peterbilt of the midwest to East coast trucks.

 

Have to be careful. Word get out on you, can founder in opportunities... Why, back in high school.......
