muffler part # anyone know? donaldson or walker?

That one under the cab I got from Fleetpride, I just remember being surprised at how inexpensive it was - maybe $40 or $50 ? I just asked for a 'freeflow' muffler, and measured the length.

 

What did it look like inside? Like the one in the pic on the 4statetrucks link above? That's free flow. I've seen mufflers on display at local area Fleetpride and Truckpro but never one that was free flow. They always had baffles inside. I know your truck's muffler has the dimensions I need it's exactly like my exhaust set up. Any chance you have a receipt handy with a part # I can cross?

Unfortunately that muffler is 9" diameter. I need 10" diameter. It also flows a lot less than the M100463 I'll be replacing.

 

If I remember correctly there isn't one that flows more then what you already have.

You could possibly look at the walker megaflow, but I don't believe there are flow numbers on them.

 

Im on my second set of M100463. Mine rusted too so when i got the new ones i cleaned them good with degreaser, sanded top and bottoms where the old ones rusted thru and put 3 or 4 coats of paint on them. Will see how they hold up. If and when it happens again im going weed burner.

 

Mufflers are overrated

 

Mine rusted thru where the 2 stainless straps wrapped around them. Other than that they were fine. Lasted almost 7 years.

 

So having to replace a couple of mufflers once in 7 years is the issue?

 

I just wondered if anyone had those specific 30" mufflers and could see a part number on them. My Y pipe was cracked, rusted and leaking. I took the mufflers loose to put a new Y in and found rot underneath the straps. Other than that there was no rust on the mufflers. It sucked cause I needed to get it back together Friday afternoon and it puts me behind a couple of days this upcoming week.
