That is the same camera that us xpress has used 12 years....
If mounted centered over the stear axle (bottom edge eye level with the 4 wheelers eyes) it will show their plate, their face, all the way down the side of your trailer, the view will from the side of the truck and out 90° so yes it will show people coming down the ramp.
The night vision is great. If the truck is at 90° it will light the all of the trailer.. it's good enough that at night in a dark lot you can blindside with it... yes you really can

@AM 561 If you cover the connections with heat shrink it seems to help keep the corrosion from happening as quickly inside the connections. The bottom pic is the cable I found on Amazon that has the removable rubber sleeve that works as well as the heat shrink.
