I would say toss Maverick... But, my opinion of them is rather biased with my recent experience there.

I have heard good and bad about Maveric, and the pres of the company is one of the bigwig trouble makers at the ATA that is trying to control the whole industry. Dont think I could work for a man that wants to regulate even the owner ops trucks to 68mph, and he wan't to do it through legislation so there isn't any competition. But that is another topic completely.
Of the company's you have mentioned I would say Averitt. I don't like Uniforms, and I am an owner/op, but would look into Averitt if I was going company driver. Good luck

Anonoymous,I doubt that you are going to hire on with anyone at $.40 a mile with 1 yr.experience.There are cos.out there paying that, but they want at least 5 yrs.exp.to get it.Earlier this year I hired on with Swift at .40 a mile, and there were a lot of strings attatched to it.If you go west of the Mississippi you lose .02 a mile for the entire run.Way too much BS.By the way I have about 8 yrs.combined exp.Seems to me most outfits are paying around .30 a mile for 1 yr.exp.

You have some good cos.listed there. My youngest son has been with CCX,Conway central for about 15 yrs.he started out as a casual, which means maybe a day or two a week. After about a yr. he was a regular driver. After a few yrs.of that he went into the safety dept.Earlier this yr.he was promoted to terminal mgr.I know Conway is a good outfit, and good money.

I agree with all of you. schneider is where to start. At least if and when you leave them, you will know what your doing and have some more respect coming from there than the others, towards your new employer.

I have been with Con-Way for four years now in Louisville Ky, It is by far the best Local job I have had. Starting on the Flex board at my terminal was not so bad. I made more $ than most the city Bid guys because the Flex fills in on the good runs when the seinor guys are off. Also the Flex seems to get the O/T which starts after 8 hours.
    Just my experience with CCX.
