Good luck- I have spoken with drivers of both companies, and they seemed happy. Marten may be able to get you home more often (they offer regional work in some geographic areas) as opposed to SRT (one day off for every 7 on). Marten also offers some different equipment- Volvos, F/Ls, and Peterbilt, whereas SRT runs mostly FLs and some Volvos.

Thanks for the reply Wallbanger. I am probably going to go with SRT since they seem to offer more miles. Also EZ pass and a brand new facility. I'm glad to know you've heard good about these companies from other drivers. You never know what to believe anymore.
    Thanks again..

Not to pick on you, but I always love a question that basically boils down to "is is better to be executed by firing squad or hanging".

Did you do a search on the site for posts on
swift? If I were your age I would rather take
my chances in Iraq than work for Swift from
what I have read about them on this site.
They were voted the worst company to work for.
I do confess I never worked for them so for
all I know its a bunch of BS.

1 week of training doesnt sound safe, 2 for that matter. From what ive heard here 3 weeks should be the fewest days of training!

The loads they are hauling are fairly simple, usually building materials, styrofoam insulation and shingles. One week of training in securement should be plenty. The are not doing driver training, just a week of trining on securement. You are already a trained and licensed driver when you get there.

Yeah you got that right- if what the recruiters said was true none of these companies would ever need drivers- cause who would leave?!:laughing8:
