Ok Pappa Jake, You need to eleborate more on these claims...What's a "Terrible trip in dangerous situations" and I wouldn't be a team driver.. Also you laughed at home time which I can understand but, what's "split swapped"...I appreciate your input...In the back of my mind I something isn't right with these companies but, can't quite put my finger on it.

Also, is there anyone out there that could refute Pappa Jake's claims...Because his statements are pretty strong...I have other opportunties pending but, nothing is for certain.

usx pay short miles and have that wacky sliding pay scale based on miles per trip, over 900 miles they pay 25 cpm short miles ,that sounds like rolling dice to me and that automatic might make you soft

If I wanted to drive a small truck I would have just got a B license ,Greenback you said it all earlier about the fraternity and the experience ,but if your only doing this for the Greenbacks then maybe the fed ex job is the ticket ,although I talked to a driver the other day who said he was topped out at $20 an hour after 6 years with them and 15 years as a driver which is ok money $160 to $200 a day probably before taxes

Sounds a little like PJ has had some trouble with the "big orange". Wonder who's fault? Was it an "attitude thing"?.......

Keep in mind that I havn't actually worked for either of the companies but I know that I have 12 years driving experience and werner wanted me to come to work for them last month for a whoping 32cpm. Which I havn't made in 8 years, plus the miles and home time were not there. Although being a new driver you won't be given much home time anywhere, especially if you are contracted to them for your cdl.
Best advice I have heard is to get your cdl on your own and go get a job

Hey dudes, been OTR or the last couple of weeks... last ones for my Werner employment...

I've signed with a local company to haul OTR their product in their trucks/reefers. The package I was offered was substantially better than what I was making with Werner. I will be driving in a team on dedicated routes...

Well, I would define busy as driving. One gripe I had was that I was spending too much time deadheading or waiting on the shipper/consignee at the dock and NOT driving.

Around 2200 to 2500 a week average. And that was managing my clocks well enough to drive 7 days a week.

Werner was a good intro to trucking for me. I found that, as mentioned elsewhere, unless you're driving team, it's very hard to make any real money. Not only with Werner, but with other carriers as well.

Any idea of what their pay scale is and if they pay practical, short miles, or percentage??
