Thanks notarps4me. I have been doing a lot of research before starting school. I dont want to end up in a job I'm going to hate right off the bat. But it may happen anyway. I really wont know till I try. I'll keep you all posted on my hunt and all that comes up. Glad to be here with you all.

For the most part, you will be by yourself for longs periods of time. If you can handle that you will be fine. The trucking school might be a bit difficult at first, but you can make a lot of new cool friends at trucking school.

You are welcome. You nailed it. You will never know unless you try it out. Works for some, others it doesn't. Your first year is the toughest. Things start falling in place after that. Good luck. I wish you well!:smt048

oh I love being alone. Not a problem at all. I will miss my kids though which is why I am looking at home most weekends. Some say the are good about getting you home but I have heard they will tell you anything to get into a truck which is why I am looking into Maverick and H.O. Wolding. They seem good. Havent heard alot of bashing on them here. So hopefully I cant to one of them. The only real problem I am having is getting all my previous employers and addresses together. I got most of my employment history except for a couple that are no longer around. My addresses are a whole new story. Living with friends to find drugs all over one day and then leave and been in so many places the last 7 yrs I cant remember them all. Plus I didnt change the address on my license so I dont know what my DAC report would say. Ill find out one way or another I guess.

YOU stick around on this board long enough and we can bring you out of that shyness a little.

don't worry about it t.d.! that shyness will go away at some point. hold your head high and let your work speak for you! if you are in school drink in all the info you can, spend every second in the truck you can, and you will be fine. remember you're doing this to make a better way for your family!

    Thanks to you all,

I must admit that this is the nicest forum I have been around. Alot of others just love to bash their company and any newbie posting in the forum. This will defintely be my permanent place now. In school when you all were being trained was it hard to learn to double clutch and make those wide turns or does it just seem harder when you havent been in atruck yet?

We appreciate the Compliment and Thank YOU for your kindness.

However, we do have our problems on here just like any where else.
The difference here being is that we deal with the problems and solve or eliminate them after a few threads on certain subjects!:laughing4:

    Hang in There....IT'S ALL GOOD!

Have you ever driven a manual car? That helps alot. You will be fine, just jump at every chance to practise shifting and backing.

As for being shy, when Cybergal first came on here, we could barely get her to make a sound in any of the threads. Now she is everywhere! LOL! j/k
