Hazmat I get, but why would he be disqualified from getting Tankers? It's a separate endorsement. Just a written test to add it. No background check as far as I remember.

Most food-grade tanker work doesn't require any endorsements.

 

I think that you can still get the tanker endorsement by itself (N), even though you are disqualified from the combined hazmat/tanker (X) endorsement. But even if your state won't allow it you can still pull pneumatic tankers without the tanker endorsement.

 

That makes no sense. Tanker doesn't require any background check from anyone.

 

Yeah pneumatic tankers don't require the tanker endorsement, however some companies want you to have it anyway

 

No background check for Tanker. Might as well get it. A lot more Shippers are requiring it for dry Van loads of non hazmat chemicals or liquids loaded in totes, even in drums.

 

last time i looked, in my state anyway, 7 years from release from custody (off parole) they let you get a hazmat and a twic. Check n see if theres a time limit vs a lifetime ban.
