Well, maybe but I am originally from up north where I NEVER had problems "fitting in" However since living in the south, fitting in is well a bit, trifling.
God forbid if you know more than someone else and suggest a smarter way of doing something. Another issue is, frankly, To boot, I live in RURAL county and not being a redneck, have made very little progress and in 13 years NEVER worked where I live. It is just not happening I fear. Don't get me wrong I have many friends but they to are from northern states it is about like mindedness I guess.
I made 14 an hour driving a truck 30 years ago I'll bet making that today may be difficult.
I would like to say this about the south if I may, The south was right!
Southern states wanted state soveriegnty. They were RIGHT!
    We are all slaves now.

I see your point. Maybe I am over reacting because I figured if the US air force trusted me to guard a plane worth several million dollars that had nuclear weapons hanging under it I proved my patriotism. Today thing are harder on us because we were overrun by NON patriots.
Would you like your information in english or spanish? I see your point lastly but things were better and now, well....they suck.

    NO work history?
Please share with us more details so as to your ability to have no work history. If you are my age for instance that could be problematic!
Maybe you were an agent that they cut lose and your history can't be devulged?
Come on........enlighten us a bit about the specifics.
You made my gappy work record feel a little easier to deal with......thats for sure!:biggrin_25523:

I too was a member of the PRP and did what you did.. I know our saysyem is FAR from perfect... How many times have I been fingerprinted?? 10-20?? Maybe 30 times.. (With all the Conceled weapons permits I've held since I was 21, Haz Mat endorsements, Secret Security clearances, Passports, TWIC card, ..ect.why can't these background checks be tied together somehow ? My HazMat fingerprints are no good for a TWIC .. I had to have them taken again...Grrrrr WHY??? Have they changed??

A lot has to to do with our system being money hungry & privatization. It's not centralized.. Our system is subcontracted to Lockheed systems (TWIC) , & who knows who for the HazMat stuff? Now who's gonna do the new 2012 DOT Regs and records on the individual driver??

I predict it's just gonna get worse before it gets better.. redundancy is built into the system, and were paying for it! (The only plus to it I can find is I write it off on my taxes.. woah, some benifit hu?)

Your right Gonzo, redundancy.Money makes the government go round. I read in here somewhere where most truckers don't vote we have no representation. If we ever get advocacy for better changes to better the system where we actually benefit, it will be tainted by deals they make in washington and the wheels go round!:biggrin_25511:

I got off the road from '93 to '98 to dispatch. When I decided to get back on the road even with 20 years of experience I was considered a rookie by the big companies.Instead of going to a driving school something I would never do or have done I just kept looking until I found someone to hire me.
The guy I found was a complete JERK he owned a beautiful fleet of 379 Petes 25 in all and most were triple digit.I got a ticket in AZ.on I-40 doing 85 and I had a lot more top end left over.
Staying with this guy for a year was one of the hardest things I have ever done.He only had three drivers to it that year, but after that year was over I was once again a "experienced" driver and could hire on anywhere.

Go back and read post #6.

And try not to hire on to a DAC company, if possible.........
