Let's hope not! Geeeez.....the economy has really hurt lots of folks. A second chance fresh start used to be a norm, now it seems they have enough suckers to put through the mill so who cares? We do! :yes2557:

You can always take blood pressure meds. Ask any doctor about HCTZ (it stands for a medicine called hydrochlorothiazide), anyways it has few side effects and is considered safe. Works well if you blood pressure isn't too high, and best of all it's a generic available for just pennies. A 90 day supply should be less than $10.

And it doesn't show on any kinda drug tests, if you don't wanna say anything at your DOT exam:biggrin_1square11:

    Good luck!

I sure appreciate your response on this. As it is, I squeaked past unmedicated but know the meds are a have to because it goes up when stressing. I copied this and saved to notepad for future reference. Thanks again. I start school tomorrow:yes2557:

I am trying to find out how hard it would be for me to get a trucking job if I can't prove work history for more than five years. I have one year of self employment, but for about five years before this I just did little side jobs to get by. I can prove that my total bills are and have been less than 200 dollars a month, but would like to know if anyone has any info on this!

You won't be looked at for more than 3, if you've never driven. That's all that FMSCA requires.

Employers may require more, just tell them you were self employed.

Some may ask for tax returns. But, many will just ask you to provide a list of past jobs. Few if any will verify them, unless they were trucking jobs.

Employers ask for 10, but only need verify the past 3, per the Feds rules.

I talked to swift and they dont need 3 years of job experience of any kind....I just told them I couldnt find a job because of the recession...Other trucking companies dont require it....its not a federal law that you must have 3 years of work experience or any at all.I just told them I was unemployed and did odd jobs for cash so I wouldnt be taxed for it......Good Luck! :)

If anyone does ask for a ten-year history, you can have a friend or family member verify what you were doing by writing a letter as to your activities. Most employers will accept this and even the guv'mint will generally understand you can't verify everything. If you have 1040's filed for previous years' taxes, that wouldn't hurt either. A ten-year history will be asked for if you apply for either Hazmat or a TWIC card.
