Wanting to learn is quite important no matter the field. Reminds me of the old quote/saying....Once you think you know it all, you should probably take a step back, cause chances are...you still got a lot to learn. Or something along those lines. haha!

Good thread. Better then most on this kinda subject I must say. Kudos.

    Agreed.

Willingness not only to learn, but to admit mistakes so they can become lessons.

    And humility.

My husband always carries the little bottles of Purell and the travel size cans of Lysol spray for the showers. Better safe than sorry.

Get a big container of unscented baby wipes. You would be amazed how many different things they're good for besides wiping a baby's butt. Get a good electric cooler, small LED flashlight, gloves for fueling, good sun glasses, good tunes, a small trash can, and Windex with a roll of paper towels. You can figure the rest out as you go along.

You might find it hard to sleep in a moving truck. I brought some unison sleep aids along, and took a half a pill if it looked like it was going to be one of those nights. Some stretches of highway will toss you around more than others. It took me a full 2 months to learn to sleep in a semi that's flying down the interstate. Its not like sleeping in a regular car, its rougher. There were times I couldn't sleep even with the aid, my trainer had to park it so I could catch some z's. Most trainers are probably used to that happening.

Titan doesn’t run team, we graduate class WITH our CDL then We do all the driving, so when we hit our HOS for the day we shut down. So will never sleep in a moving vehicle
With my PTSD I don’t sleep much anyway

Oh god! You have to train with someone in the passenger seat all day. That sucks. My six week training was done as a team. After that I did account specific training, and that guy was awake most of the time I drove. I felt like strangling the guy. Lol. Speed up! Speed up! Slow down! You're turning too wide! Why are you using service brakes? Why aren't you using service brakes? *reaches across field of vision pulls air horn* *cat calls female motorist* turn here! Wait, don't turn here! Wtf are you doing? *flips off another trucker* *shows annoying youtube videos all day* *truck is always freezing cold*

Just try to keep it all compartmentalized in your head. It's temporary.
