hey guys I'm excited too..I leave for San Antonio for Swift on August 6th...first thing though is I am disappointed...its one thing to give us guys advice but its another thing to mindlessly and aimlessly talk crap about stuff....you know who you are and your names I will not disclose...I consider(ed) this a place to be where truckers can shoot the breeze, pass advice and give the occasional off-color joke lol...but it seems thats few and far in between now....maybe thats the reason I find my self slowly not coming on here that often...I can close my eyes and click on at least 5 different threads where it starts off with someone seeking info or advice and it turns nasty...I hope some of these people on here grow up or leave sooner than later so those that want to enjoy being on here can freely...just my 2 cents...love it or hate it.
Must start another GOOD SWIFT thread...

I got my CDL back in 97, did not use it for anything that any trucking company would class as experience (Oil Rigs, and, Interstate Battery Body Job).
In the time I was looking for a driving job a year ago I never once came across a company that would charge you thousands of dollars to train you and then pay you a pittance to try and repay them.
Keep in mind I live in Canada and my first and current company OTR pays me 40 cents a mile and has since I started on with them a little over a year ago.
From your posts I really think you need to remove the chips from your shoulders even if you feel they balance out, you really come across as a know it all, I think you have a long way to go to become a KNOW ANYTHING!
P.S. I listen more then I talk and from that I can learn from those who know, and once and a while I come up with something experienced drivers perhaps never thought of.
The day you think you know it all is the day you may as well die...
Good Luck... I think you will need it carrying all that weight on your shoulders -

I have been in the class in Sac. with Polk Salit (I'm actually the driver who did the choke job at DMV!
) and have had a great experience thus far with both TDA in Sac. as well as the Swift program to date. I hope I am not raining on Polk's parade but he passed at DMV today with flying colors, as did I and one other "Swifty" and we are all headed to Lathrop for orientation next week. I know there are a handful more students going to test at DMV tomorrow and I am sure they will do great as well. Just wanted to come here and put my 2 cents in and let everyone know that so far the experience has been a good one, and one that I would highly reccommend to anyone anywhere near the Sacramento area!
pawpaw Thanks this. -
Fred and Snowman, since I do not have the required post count would you like me to respond to your Private Message here?
I look forward to YOUR reply! -
Unless things have changed, Swift always has openings everywhere.
