Ya you're right! If the kids were gone and my wife could come with me every ounce in a wile, I would enjoy it more. I just realized I was missing high school football games, science projects, and fatherly advice on first dates, you know, the sweet stuff of life! I made my request known to GOD and HE honored my request! Polk Salit out!

Well... I was supposed to start academy tomorrow, but after finding out that my eyesight is worse than I thought and didn't want to be sent back after starting. I'll be getting my glasses soon and then I rescheduled my academy date for the 17th of December, I hope to get in this time and not have to worry about being sent back.

Do you get any pay that first month of training at SWIFT?? Or anywhere else for that matter. I have to plan for what I would need to have in the bank for my better half while I'm starting up.

Thanks for starting this topic. I hit a small snag with the physical but am working on the correction. Should retake the DOT in the next ten days.

The information on this post has been helpful and the positive post are encouraging. Lets just say, my eyes are a little more wide open then before.

Again, thanks and hope is all well with each of you!

I had to resurrect this as I still feel it pertains to me very much. Back in August, I was served with a 120 day CDL revocation (my car license was still good, just not CDL part). Swift had nothing they could do for me and had to let me go. My DM, the fleet manager and my Phoenix planner told me as soon as everything comes back to good to come on back ASAP. I told them I was definitely going to.

December rolls around and my CDL is reinstated. I reapply online and get a call from the recruiter later that day. It took about 3 weeks and I was seated into an orientation block. Finished the 3 days and was placed right back in my exact same position I had when I left. This is a day cab, local position. They kept their word to the tee and I couldn't be happier. It's a pretty perfect scenario right now. I gave a big thanks to the fleet manager and my DM and then called my planner. He told me "that's what happens when you have the reputation you have" as to why I was rehired into my former spot in the fleet.

Ok, that's enough of my celebratory post.
