Actually, the ABQ terminal was one of the best when I was with them, and probably still is. They had an excellent shop crew and the TM really cared about his drivers. He would go to bat for them any time it was needed. The DM's were pretty good too.

Hi everybody! I started school today in Sacramento Ca.The class started with 30 students and by the end of the day there were 19 left! Three went home because they were five minuetes late, so don't be late! all the others had various personal issues, so make sure you are what you say you are when you show up. I passed my physical with no problem. They started with the flat bed physical requierments and drop you down to van requierments if you can't keep up. So far the staff seams plesant, and my roommates seam prety cool too! I guess most the paperwork and peeing in cups is over with for now! Reguler school starts tomorow. I feel confident and am setteling in with this new direction in life! So with SWIFT, So far so good!

Hay everyone! The second day went good! I guess the school stopped providing a shuttle to and from school two weeks ago, i'm not sure why? So yes, they were driving on there own. There's three to a room, so we trade off on driving. I did pass the flatbed physical! It was'nt to tuff, you just have to carry a little more wieght a little farther and do a push and pull test with a hand held scale,it was'nt bad at all. The first week is all about getting us ready to take the test from DMV to get our learners permit. Monday we start driving in the yard and learning how to hook up and un hook the trailer. Today we went over general knowledge, combination, and air brakes and then took a pre test. I only missed four out of about eighty five questions so i'm going to studie up on what I missed. I found it to be a big help to have read through the DMV hand book a few times before I went to school so I was'nt hearing all this for the first time! This enabels me to spend more time on the HAS-MAT, TANKER and COMBINATION endorsment material, all the endorsments you can get the better! Oh! and if you have'nt taken you'r class c test in a few years, you'l probly have to take that too, as if there was'nt enough to remember as it is! All in all, things are going well, so studie that hand book and don't be late! Good luck and God bless you all! Polk Salit out! :biggrin_2558:

    To whom it may concern!
Day three of trucking school consisted of more tests, group studie, and re-testing. They give you studie questions with the answers and go over it all in class, this helps in knowing what you really have to pay attention to in the DMV hand book, besides everything! I aced a couple of my tests, so i'm feeling confident about taking the tests at DMV tomorow. I'm going to take the three basic tests witch are General Knowledge, Combinations, and Air brakes, as well as my Doubles/Triples, Tanker, and Haz-Mat endorsments! It sounds like alot, but if you studie at night and pay attention in class, it's not to bad, at least I hope!!? I'v pretty much got it all down, I just have to spend some time on the Haz-Mat stuff tonight. Oh! and I really want to say thanks to 6pak4-2, doubledragon5, majik lady, and zaroj for you'r thoughts and encouragment, it helps when people are pulling for you, (no pun intendid) more tomorow.:biggrin_2558: Polk Salit out!

    Hay everybody!
Day's 4-5 went great! Friday morning we did more group study and pre-testing.By noon we were ready to go to DMV!!? All that studying and pre-testing paid off! I took all 6 tests varying from about 25 to 85 questions each and I only missed 2. General knowledge had the most questions followed by Combinations and Air brakes. I thought Doubles/Triples, Tanker, and Haz-Mat were prety easy, it's more about safety, not so much numbers so don't let the DMV hand book scare you! All in all, waiting in line was the worst part about it ,and even that wasn't bad for DMV! Saturday morning was our last day of indoor class. We mainly went over how to fill out our log book and monthly report. Saturday afternoon we went to the yard and started our Pre-trip inspection training. We also studied the diferent types of transmitions, double clutching, and basicly how to operate the truck. Some of us started practicing pulling forward and backing up. If you allready have expiriance backing trailers on smaller vehicals, you should pick this up prety quick. And for those who didn't, it was total cone mayhem! But that's what practice is for right! Tomorow I"m going to go to church and thank GOD for getting us through DMV and the week with no loss of life, well except for thouse cones anyway! So untill Monday, Polk Salit out! :biggrin_25519:
