Not really much to add to the already excellent information.
I will add this tidbit though. If you were ever involved in a wreck, there will be details of it in the CLUE (insurance) database.

    tscottme Thanks this.

    Same here!

I doubt there is any information on the OP in CLUE. As I understand it CLUE is a database of insurance payouts. If a person applies for insurance OR his employer applies in his name once the insurance company enters the information they will get a list of all payouts made in the person's name. CLUE is also like HireRight, you can get a free copy of yours.

I highly recommend the OP takes a hard look at applications going forward. Make sure there are no qualifiers before the word accident.

    ZVar and tscottme Thank this.

The most direct way is going to -or- writing the municipality/jurrisdiction involved.
There are now on-line systems that a lot of municipalities are joining that makes it a lot easier for a price.
In NJ the town 'Records Bureau' office charges $0.05 a page VRS the $10.00 or so thru the online service.
The clerk of the town where my last company was located used to give me them for free after a few years but we had a number of theft reports plus the occasional local fender bender.
Sometimes your insurance adjuster will share one from a distant location for free.
In addition to obtaining the report, make sure you also get the 'KEY' that explains the answers in those little boxes down each margin because that is where the LEO shows why he feels vehicle #2 is at fault; usually vehicle #1 is the injured party.
The description of the report can make it look 50/50 while those little boxes say otherwise.
Keep every report for at least 5 years so you can prove you were not 'at fault' over and over to any future employers.

    kemosabi49 and wiseBear Thank this.
