I have a 2019 Peterbilt 579 and I’m curious how difficult it is to change the DPF filter myself
It looks like I can buy a new one and replace it myself for what Peterbilt wants just to burn the old one
Most cases the regen strategies are based off of DPF age/hours, as well as the ash load amount in the DPF. You may need to head to the dealer after and have some of those parameters reset. Don't know about Paccar but some manufacturers also need the S/N of the DOC and DPF updated in the ECM as well.
I had to replace the DPF on the 2017 I had. It had been cleaned at 240k and I replaced it around 500k. Peterbilt will have to get in and basically tell it there’s a new DPF. And I think they did a forced regen to make sure all the sensors jived after they told the computer there’s a new one.
