I have a 200W amplifier and people cant seem to hear me better with it on vs it off. If anything it makes it harder to hear others when its on which is weird. I know how they work and all that im just a bit confused on why im not seeing any difference.

Throw it in the shelf for a bit, work on the antenna system from the radio to the antenna first.

You can have 1000000000000000000 watts and with a crappy antenna system they still won't hear you.

What Ridgeline said X-2.....If you check on a meter when the amp is on, (external meter) and you see close to 200w swing, then the amp is doing it's deal...If it's only doing the watts the radio puts out whether the amp is on or off, then you have a fried amp...

I’ve hit those wattage numbers on a tight Dosy and a Texas Star Mod V.

It don't matter what the swr is, more likely than not you have an issue with what is called "common mode current" which has to be addressed as if you have a RF ground problem.

How much swing watts do you see out of the radio with the amp off? How many watts with the amp turned on?
