It just takes knowing the person or trusting their posts. I can recognize Gears sarcastic humor, also BW's, Redd's, notarps and a number of others. Do I recognize yours? Not so much. But.....in time maybe! And maybe you'll recognize mine and Gears. or not. who knows. whatever. Lord it's windy in Cheyenne.

    1) i would ask that we all withold the wise-cracks and only offer information pertaining to my requirements. Also, please do not try to talk me out of my, apparently "stringent demands;" i've been in the business long enough to know that quality does exist. As in companies that do things right.

i've driven just about every make and model of truck produced in the last 5 model years, so i think i'm pretty well qualified to make judgement of whats decent and whats not.

So, if you can't offer any useful information, please withold your comments for now. Then, when we get some decent leads, then you can let the harsh comments fly and tear apart my thoughts and lay into me.

    2) Just to clear any confusion, Volvo bought out white and essentially used their designs for a while---hence VolvoWhite. These trucks are acceptable by me. BUT NOT the VOLVO designed volvos----only the white designed volvos are accepetable. Also, volvo mingled with GM for a while because current gm managment are stupid(so there were trucks with the whitegmc lable on them and these trucks are acceptable also) so it's no suprise GM went bankrupt but we wont' go there.........................

    3) Based on my initial talks with other drivers, it appears that Covenant (yes i know about alot of negative comments about them) fits many of my requirements:

    a) they run 70; This is good enough for me although i would really be happy with 77mph. Unfortunately i "heard" they were going to turn back down to 65?

    b) Most tractors have a webasto type heater system. This is good. i feel heat is more important than cold because (i) it's better to be hot than cold, (ii) if, during the warmer months i sleep at night anyways and it gets cooler at night anyways and i can get by without idling; i usually do not idle unless it's very cold. and (iii) i'll worry about how to get cold when on layover or parked during the day during warm times later----such as using a small honda-type generator and portable a/c. Cooling is not a primary concern of mine right now.

    c) They appear to run cascadias which is acceptable.

    d) Apparently, if you're willing to run and stay out, they've got the miles. The driver i talked to appeared to be running "ragged." i consider this a good thing. He appeared to be running like a wild azzed impala---not just the animal but the car; Picture a 69 impala coupe with a 427 big block---that sucker can run.
In fact, he appeared to be in a hurry and did not want to extend the conversation too long. This driver was domiciled in Florida, so this may be a good thing for florida drivers.

Another company that shows promise is U.S. express.
