I'm suprised nobody said this yet, but maybe try grabbing the wheel once in a while...?! Seriously, it might help.

that is the problem i am having exactly.
my PcP gave me some muscle relaxers with one year refill but i have a history of substance abuse in my family and i don't want to risk falling in love with them.I have a appointment with a specialist august 4th so hopefully i can get this worked out soon and i will have a look around at my local truck stop for a universal armrest of some sort.
Thx all for your input and more is always welcome!

PS, make GOOD friends with a GOOD Chiropractor! You would be amazed at how much they can help! Your back is the problem...ESPECIALLY once it gets loser due to sitting in the truck for long hours. It helped me a LOT and now I am able to crack my neck and back mostly myself due to them showing me what to do and AAHHHHH, I mean to tell you now!

I am pretty sure what you are doing is gripping the wheel. You are tensing up and your arms are out in front of you. Try this to get an idea. When you are home sit up like you do in your truck. Hold your arms out like you are holding the wheel. Make a tight fist with both hands and hold that for a few. See how uncomfortable that is? Basicly I think that is what you are doing for 10 or so hours a day.

Try doing some basic stretches and range of motions. Reach across your chest and put your right hand around your left shoulder and turn your head to the left and right. Switch arms. Now put your right hand palm down on the middle of your spine. With your left hand push your elbow down as far as you can. Switch arms. Put both arms staright out and move your arms back as far as you can. Simple stuff like this can help loosen you up, but you need to learn some breathing techniques and relaxing tech.. you are to tense behind the wheel.
Fighters are trained to be relaxed until after the punch is thrown and seconds before the punch is landed to tighten up which give speed and power, but mostly because it uses less energy and that is what you need to learn. breathe, relax and flex when needed.

This concerns me. An 18 pound gain is nothing to sneeze at. In another four months, you'll weigh 224, four months after that 242, etc, etc, etc.

Becoming a driver is a big lifestyle change, and causes many of us to gain weight. I gained 25 pounds in a year and a half and decided that was enough. I've since lost 15 of that. As you plan on sticking with it, I would advise you to learn ways to keep your weight in check.

Are you waiting while they load and unload you? This is a great time to squeeze in a mini workout.

I have to agree with NoTarps on this one. I have the same issue, only in my left arm.

It's a habit I developed early, I even do it in my car. And it's a habit I haven't been able to break.

My only relief, is to swap arms frequently. I still have a habit of the 2 handed death grip in my car though...#### arm rest aren't high enough.
