NINE FT WHIP!!!! That whip must be at a 90 deg lean when sitting still just so its almost vertical at speed..Got an adapter ordered for my sirio mag mount to use a 10k or a skip shooter on my pick up....Would mind a quad mag but ill try a $9 option 1st..
Naw stuff like that doesnt get under my skin..I have bigger worrys than if his stuff reaches further than mine or sounds better or costs more ext ect....If anything i got under his cause then all the insults/braggin ect started flyin..Either way my feelins, manhood were not scared for life....Its all good i dont hold a grudge or have any ill will against anyone..

He's got it tilted forward at a 45 degree angle and it seems to work quite well even at 75 mile an hour
He did mention base stations as part of the equation and it's very possible one of those base stations has an 8 element beam which makes it very possible so it has little to do with his radio making the trip, and it's all about the receiver and the receiving antenna as well as altitude of both stations and Terrain in between both stations.

Only way i see 75 is down hill..Thought about a 102 whip but it will need to be a lil more sturdy so it dont sway all crazy like....Someone mentioned in a thread somewhere(might be here) about a cascadia bonding to chassie..Like to see how,on mine i dont see any real places to go from cab to chassie while keepin the straps short..

The guy built in extension for the bottom of the antenna and then he chopped a foot or two off the top of the antenna

    Slowmover1 Thanks this.

That dont make sence..Add some on the bottom and take it off the top..That will mess his ground plain up some and his ant tune wouldnt it?
Almost sounds like the pole i had on my other cascadia just shorter..

On a tractor-trailer it makes perfect sense. Make the bottom thicker and more rigid and remove an equal amount of flimsy stuff off the top so it doesn't Flex as much.

Not if done correctly in the proper proportions
Not even close because the feed Point never changed unlike the pole that you used which raised the feed point 3 foot higher than it should have been

    slim6596 and Slowmover1 Thank this.

All contacts are on channel 20, some base stations, some mobiles

As far as base stations go, I do not know how tall they are or how many elements. There are a mixture of ground planes and beams, heights vary. We are talking up to 20 different stations.

Locations are from as far south as Crystal Springs, Ms to as far north as Houston, Ms and as Far East as Aliceville, Alabama. These contacts start around central Mississippi when I head north on my deliveries.

Using Indo distance calculator, which measures as the crow flies, the average is 45-50 miles, several at 60-70 miles and can be as far as 100 miles. There are too many people on the channel to distinguish which each one operates.
