Is it all the time or just sometime?
If its sometime, I would say its just bleed over when someone is close to you talking on other channels... even side band.
If its all the time, somehow your RX has gotten off frequency some how.
What brand & model is your radio?
Can you still talk & hear on the same channel? For example, can you and another person be on ch 19 & talk to each other & understand each other ok or, do either of you sound garbled or scrambled like one of you are on another channel? How about channel 1 or channel 40?cuzzin it and TruckerPete1990 Thank this. -
i can talk good with another person that close we both sound good. when i hear them its not all the time its just an every now and then thing. but for about 150 miles i heard these people that are on channel 7 and im on 19... but when i hear em there in the red mark on my raido so i adjuest it and basicly makes it so i can only get a mile range then.

For 150 miles, I think unfortunately, you were just running along with a couple of guys or maybe a group of guys that were not too far ahead OR behind you with some powerful radios that were just bleeding over.
While I agree that its highly unusual, I just don't see how someone can bleed over that long, so far apart on channels. If it was just one channel like from 18 to 19, I could understand maybe a big powerful base station, but from 19 to channel 7 is a long way to bled over for that long unless they just happen to be traveling along near you all that time.
Its also highly unlikely that it would happen very often at all unless you run the same lanes (roads) as these guys all the time. Other than what I have described... I'm kinda at a loss on this one. I hope you can find out what the problem is & post back here to let us know. I'm kinda puzzled & curious now
Good luck & best wishes

That is exactly what happens when someone who doesn't know (or care) what they're doing "peaks up" a radio. They are probably splattering a couple of MHz on both sides of the channel they're tuned to.
Sure, the meter says 12 watts, but only 2-3 of them are doing them any good. -
I hear Spanish on my radio on some channels. It can't be mex taxi cabs I am on the east coast????

I had the cb near Iowa 80 largest truck stop do it.

Personal opinion here but to me, i wouldnt take my kids bert and ernie radio there to get the batteries changed. That guy completely and utterly screwed up my 959 and it was doing exactly like you are describing but also had a lack of range and sound. People said i sounded hollow and weak. I took it to a great guy up on 70 in ohio.. he told me what was wrong but i forgot.. I believe he had some wire backwards and removed a diode that needed to be in place. I would have a good tech take a look abd see whats going on.
