Since you have not attended any other training program, I am not sure you can pas judgment on this program. I have read everything that you post, as well as everyone else giving you feedback. For the most part, everyone who has posted here is giving you their time and words out of benevolence in hopes that you become a great driver. Always remember that when you are responding with a sharp tongue. It's almost like we try to give you good advice, or tell you something (that you may not like) and you stab us in the hand for it. I would call it ungrateful and am surprised that this thread hasn't died.

Most of us have told you that you have the option to change instructors. It sounds like you have a substandard instructor and you know this. If you choose to remain with him, plan on pulling your big boy pants up and teaching yourself most of what you have to learn. Plenty of good drivers have done this and have succeeded. Plan on teaching yourself alot during the TnT phase too. The opportunity is there, in the form of a big truck with miles to drive. If you have questions that your instructor won't or can't answer, bring them back here and we will gladly try to help you out. (I think I have said that before) Just leave the venomous rhetoric off the page from now on.

Obviously good enough is good enough when it comes to you guys so... I guess any type of discussion about very real problems with this program is just a waste of my time.

IDK what you're looking for, but I doubt you'll find it. I got my CDL through one of the better private schools for $$$... they barely give you the practical experience to make it through a state CDL check ride, and the "classroom experience" is certainly not worth that kind of money. The real difference? They hold your hand a lot more, say nice things to you, blow smoke up your arse... and, unless you are a serious danger, EVERYONE gets a license. A good 50% of school CDL holders would wash out at Prime.

Is Prime training good? Yes... it is, much better than what you'd pay thousands for at a CDL mill. Could Prime's program be improved? Yes it certainly could... so take your concerns to the fella in charge of training, and share them. But do it respectfully, and with an open mind. I'll be the first one to agree with you that instructor/trainer vetting, training and probation could use an upgrade in how we do things. But don't come on this forum and tell us that you're some kind of training expert without providing a curriculum vitae. Me? I spent 8 years doing technical training of various sorts in a professional environment including course work in academic systems development, and outside of doing a better job of instructor/trainer selection there's not a whole lot more you can really do to improve what you get here. You can't get the kind of experience behind the wheel that you will get as a trainee at Prime. YOU and EVERYONE else don't have the kind of money it would take to provide that. $4,000 buys you maybe... just maybe the 40 or so hours behind the wheel that you get at a school. That's not even what you will have by the time you go back to Springfield JUST to get your CDL check ride.

Another reason this is a stupid risk is that several companies tail you with dash cams. I'd been with my company only a month and I've already been recorded. Fortunately, the only thing I did was fail to keep my turn signal on long enough while passing on I-70. If I'd been screwing around with a phone or looking at atlases, I'd be fired.

I rarely post on this forum, but do view it because it brings back good memories.. I think that these people are
really trying to help you but you fail to see or understand what they are saying..

With your attitude, I doubt if you last a year in trucking, but wish you well if you do..

IP said it best, concentrate on getting your CDL, your training will come later in TnT..

If your Instructor is not doing their job, ask for another one.. One simple phone call is all it takes and that
has been said several times before...

It's been said several times.. but the fact that 3 out of 4 people I know have bad trainers (two of them are on their second bad trainer) makes me prefer to just suck it up and continue doing what I'm doing. I've trained myself.. I can shift, downshift, I've read the requirements for the road test... I'm not a moron and I'm a good driver. I will get my CDL I'm not worried about that.

None of that changes anything about the problems with this program, and I mistakenly thought some people might want to discuss that. I wasn't looking for life advice.. I'm 35 years old I can take care of myself. Ill go discuss it with the people who are respinsible for the program. Yall can stip taking the criticism so oersonally now...

At 35 years of age why are you looking for the BOO HOO poor you responses that your not getting. I have 2 ex prime trained drivers working for me and not 1 problem with either 1.

You need to go address the issues with the proper person at PRIME if you feel your not getting w hat is expected from this trainer, also need to tone down the SNARLEY responses if you want to get anyplace in trucking .
