Anyway Yea the clutch brake was my other big problem too... Pushing that thing to the floor everytime and grinding the wrong gear. Ah I can laugh about it today... Not so Much yesterday. Lolz

LOL, Yeah that is one that gets all new drivers I think. I would go over and over it, show it, demonstrate it, and still me students would punch the clutch all the way to the floor. It helps to move the seat back some.

I am glad that you are giving your trainer the benefit of the doubt. Keep up the good work. Glad you are doing well. Keep us posted.

He's been driving a long time so I realize he knows a thing or two even with his bad habits. A couple of friends from my orientation group havent had much luck - neither of their trainers has any personal hygiene skills whatsoever... and one of them pees in a bottle and keeps it out in the open. (I've seen pictures - the truck is disgusting in addition to the very large pee bottle) And neither of their trainers showers or even brushes their teeth. So I guess things could've been much worse. One of them even slept in the drivers lounge the other day because the truck smelt so bad... the other is on the way back to Springfield.

One other person I've kept in touch with seems to be doing fine and is progressing Well and getting a lot of driving time.

I think I will fare fine.. but they really need some more supervision with these instructors. At the very least they should be inspecting the trucks before putting students in them... it isn't fair to the students who have signed a contract expecting professional training. Yes OK we can request a new trainer... but there's no reason they can't make sure we are at least going out on the road in a properly maintained truck before we go.

Not gonna lie a spare wide mouth bottle is a good thing to have on board, in case you can't find a restroom (I.e. Most truck parking areas along the interstates) but the contents should be dumped out and the bottle discarded ASAP, and you will learn showers are not always possible, look for adult wash clothes and no rinse shampoo at Walmart next time you make a stop, not as good as a real shower, but it'll get you by when all your shower credits are at ta, and the only thing around is flying j

I understand that.. but we were promised a shower every other day in class, and also expect a livable condition in the truck we are being assigned. To take on almost $4k in debt and get stuck in a filthy situation like that isn't acceptable on a professional level. The trainers agreed to a certain standard when they became a trainer and have an obligation to uphold that. We aren't team driving for our cdl training there is plenty of time to shower - my trainer hasn't had any problem getting me one with a little advanced trip planning and deciding where we are gonna sleep/shower before we leave for the day.

BTW apparently that trainer even uses that bottle when at a truck stop.. that was one thing that really pushed him over the edge.

Lucky... I shower daily unless it is not possible. I always have showers & my truck is spotless.

But you were talking about someone else :biggrin_2551:
