You will do well to listen to these people telling you what's what.

Im curious as to why they DQ'ed you and why you don't already have a actual CDL by now.

But be very careful here Sir, Firelotus has it right, you are at a really delicate time now for your future in Trucking. There is a absolute loss in time waiting for this and that. If you cannot wait a week or a few days to do something, what will happen if your truck is down and you get impatient on the road? Hopping companies will not help in the long run.

It's the weekend. I'd give them until Tuesday afternoon and then see about quitting. Unless you just really want that local job. Like the other people said, you don't want to be stigmatized as a job hopper especially this fresh out of the gate. Keep that in mind. Best of luck to you.

I'd leave.....there are better opportunities, but call the other Training Schools and tell them of your situation, ok and go from there.

There are many out there that will sponsor you.....Google free CDL A School and you will get a list or on this site there are Listed Paid CDL A Schools.

Here are other opportunities you might look into:

    Automatic Truck Jobs

RAIDER EXPRESS is an ALL AUTOMATIC FLEET
2 Week Orientation if you got your CDL, to train you on the Automatic Truck.
Or if you dont have a CDL.
They have their own CDL A School, no cost to you.
    Free Room and Board.
    PLUS PAID TRAINING.
    With CDL $600
    Without CDL $1000
    http://www.raiderexpress.com

Also Melton Truck Lines, they train you on standard/manual trucks but they have Automatic....after training you can request an Automatic.
(You must have your CDL A, before applying and have attended a Certified CDL A School or have 3 months of OTR)
Their whole Fleet is moving to Automatics, because of better fuel milage.

If that's correct, then just do it and then find a decent job.

Im concerned about it costing you $300. Are they not paying for your hotel and paying you layover pay?

Please try and stick it out 6 months at least. Or give schneider a try. For training companies, I think they are one of the best. Both times I worked for them, mu orientation class was half filled with Ex CRE drivers. CRE has a wide spread horrible reputation, and other companies know this.

Weeeeeel......I must disagree with most of the posts here. I would have left on day one. In fact, I've left numerous jobs for numerous reasons and NEVER had a problem in getting hired on at the new place. These days CDL's are in short supply---it's definitely a seller's market and employers know that there are a million reasons why you might leave a former job.

Give a call to some other companies, tell them your problem and you want to leave, ask them if they are interested. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised. Lose the fear and forge ahead. Fear is the mind killer (from Dune). ;-)

    Rookie-Trk33....
You are rig that here are good companies.. and certainly companies that are better then the one the OP is Currently with...

But your advise to leave... is not good advise... this is an industry where 45% of all new divers who get their CDL are no longer in the industry 90 days after they get their CDLs...

And 92 % of new drivers are no longer trucking 1 year after getting their CDL...

You are advising, the the OP leave so they can get a few more pennies...

When others are advising they stick around an gets experience so the have an opportunity for a few more dollars, be treated better, and have better benefits and perks...

After being a driver for just over 5 years and needing to come off the road because of family issues.. I thought I knew the industry pretty well and bought that my tanker job where I was making $20 an hour was at the top in this industry..

Now I am a recruiter and I recruit for several small good companies.. and when I saw what these companies pay and offer their drivers I was amazed...

But, here are the basic requirements for one of the companies I recruit for... and the company with the minimum requirements
No less than 3 years recent and continuous experience
No more than 3 companies in their driving experience..
( meaning they did not job hop, and only ever drove for three companies)
No less than 1 year at any company they drove for..

Here is the mistake that many if not most new drivers make... They make their decisions based on where they are currently... and not where they want to be in the near future..

If you see a driver who is successful in this industry and ask them how they got there... chances are they are not going to sat they just kept going from company to company to company until they found a good one..

They will tell you they stuck it through the first couple years and learned all they could about the industry, gained experience and was finally qualified for a good company or became an O/O..

Drivers who can't get through the first 90 days at their first company are overs that fall into the 45% of the new CDL drivers who are out of the Industry with in the 90 days or the 92% that don't make past the first year..

Now yes, I understand there are some drivers who did go from one CDL mill Mega to another before their first 90 days and are now driving for a company that all other drivers are green with envy about, and are making more money than the majority of truckers on the road, while are home for 5 days every week... but they are rare...

And yes, the last paragraph was sarcastic.. but, also true of the bs some drivers put out..

Quattro.. were you just recently.. thinking of seriously becoming a pilot car driver...

But, you are sort of what I am referring to.. you are not at a place in your truck driving career where you are happy with the company you are with and what you are doing... you are still searching and now thinking of other alternatives.. like pilot car..

I am not disrespecting you... but, your advise to this driver about how your career path of job company hopping leads to satisfaction and success is a fantasy.. you have not even established your driving career yet... and there are companies that are not on your menu to pick from because of your company hopping..

How we overcome problems is what defines us as men (or women). The start of someones career is never the same as what it will be down the road. No pun intended. C R England would not be my first choice. Of course no starter company would be. I started out at 45cpm. I do not believe anyone should work for less then that. But I got that rate because I refused to settle for less.

You chose to work for CR England. It didn't go as planned. S. Hit happens. Learn from it. All the Megas are the same. You just got unlucky. Could have happened anywhere. Go or stay, it is your choice.
