Just enjoying my weekend. No school this weekend. I have mon, tues, and wed for practice in school still. My road test is on thurs. So long as I pass my road test I will be going back home for a week. I will then head out on the 9th to Georgia for orientation and mentor after that.
I will keep updated as much as possible.

Well, I drove pretty well today. My instructor said if I drive like that on the road test that I will have no trouble passing. I have 1 more practice day tommorow and then the road test Thursday morning. Man these 3 weeks flew by.
-
Welp thats it. No more practices. I take the road test tommorow morning. Wish me luck!!

Good luck.

Ok so I passed my test. Got 10 points. 5 for forgetting my wipers on the pre inspection and 5 for a wide right turn but I say thats questionable lol. Everyone got marked on that one turn. Mine and 2 guys were wide and the 4th guy was too narrow.
Im now home with my wife for the next week and I leave out on the 9th to head to Georgia for orientation. Dont be surprised if I dont post for a week or so =)Smurfette Thanks this. -
Well, I leave tommorow at 11:05 am and am scheduled to arrive in Atlanta at 1:25 pm on Sunday. Its going to be a long ride on the bus lol.
Im not quite sure what to expect out of the 3 day orientation. If anyone cares to chime in how long the days are and what Ill be doing there then I would appreciate it. -
I start my training oct 25 in SLC i have a class b i hope the 7 yrs of driving help i drove a 8&10 speed but this whole double clutch is got me a little confused
-
Double clutching is easy once you get the hand of it. Clutch to neutral, clutch to gear. You are not using the full range of the clutch just like an inch or two beyond the free play. Just count 1,2 in your head. On 1 clutch and neutral and on 2 clutch and gear same time.
As for downshifting.. Clutch to neutral, rev and clutch to gear.
On paper it sounds like a long process but its actually not. Its a real quick timed process. Like I said before, count 1,2 in your head. Its all about timing really. It becomes second nature pretty quick and you dont even think about it. -
So today was more boring then I expected. Class started at 6am. There were about 25 people in class. Most of them new students and some of us were there for orientation. So, I got a mound of paperwork to fill out, I had to take another drug test and I had to do the security interview. Cool np. I was done in about a half hour. So I sat there for roughly 5 hours waiting on everyone else to do theres plus they all had to do the DOT physical and the work well tests as well. Atleast I could go out when I wanted to for a smoke or bathroom but I couldnt leave to goto lunch until everyone was done. Got back from lunch and we talked about the drug and alcohol policy and the sexual harrasment policy. Then he cut us loose about 315. The teacher is cool and he is funny as hell.
Now that all that is out of the way tommorow should be a bit more eventful. -
Today was similar for us here in SLC. Not all of the class did the DOT physical though only about 5 of us got that far. So they have to finish that tomorrow. We counted 49 students this morning. I only know of 1 so far that has gone home. The class before mine started with 52 they are on their 2nd week and they only have 20 students left.
I'm not worried yet
There are 7 woman in this class and so far we have all passed on to the next phase. So that is a good thing YAY!!!!!
