Well, today was just a lazy day. Found a great massage parlor after a hefty breakfast buffet, with the eggs and bacon and homefries and lots of other items. I know that when I get back home, back to my diet again. Can not believe all that I eat when I am here.

Dinner buffet was great again. Found some pizza this time, and of course the scallops and all the peel and eat shrimp that you want. They even had some nice rabbit stew tonight and a style of beef stew. I think that tomorrow is just going to be a real lazy day. Only leave the room for the meals. Get some rest before the flight back on the 19th.

Everyone, take care and stay safe on the road.

blsqueak - really enjoyed your posts, I have been to China 5 or 6 times with my wife Tzu Wei, her brother lives in Guazou, her parents live in a small town further north (Mei Ching). Always a good time, very interesting, especially the food - all good, except the puppy stew.
Nice that some of the larger cities have English translations, thank the lord she can read Chinese - I must learn some of that.
Know what you call a person that speaks two languages? Bi-lingual.
A person who speaks three languages? Tri-lingual.
A person who speaks only one language? American

Thanks. Never tried the puppy stew. Family loves dogs too much. Yes, it is alot different here. In Guangzhou near the one consulate there they have a type of Urgent Care. Signs out side say doctors and dentist that speak English, French and Portugese and of course Chinese. It is becomming more and more in the International and larger hotels, you will find English speaking agent, especailly in the larger cities.

Hello everyone. Well, it is about time to start to get ready to head home. As always, this has been a great trip. Today when the housekeeper came in Susan told her that we would be leaving in the morning. Next thing I know, the housekeeper comes back in the room with lots of little freebies to give me to bring back home, toothbrushes and paste, razors and cream and combs and even shoe polish. Little things that I collect for souveniers from hotels that I stay in. Susan also likes to collect these. She gives to the family.

Breakfast buffet this morning was excellent. Learned to get there earlier than yesterday. That way, there is still food left. Tonight will be another great diner, then hope for a great night of sleep. Everytime that I am about to get ready for a long plane ride, can never sleep. Get back to PHX in time for rush hour to get to the hotel. Then to KW to get my truck out of the shop the next day, and I guess that I will get this e-log class over. Then on the 21st, get me pplan to head back to my little Wal-Mart run and start to earn some serious money again.

I want to thank everyone for taking this journey with me. Hoping that what Susan and the family is doing works to get her Visa by January. Then will be back in March to get her and bring her home. It has been a long 5 years.

    Be safe and take care.

Like I said before, I lived vicariously through your journey. I was just told yesterday that my own daughter in China is relocating from Yunnan via a 36-hour high-speed (meaning 430 kph or about 270 mph) train trip. How exciting! I am so envious of your trip, blsqueak!

I wish you and Susan the best and a very long life together.

So true. We have always been a bit arrogant in that way. It was that way when I was a kid in Jordan and it's still that way. Folks that meet my daughter, who is fluent in two Chinese dialects, are always shocked when they learn she is American.

Amazing what living with someone from a different culture does to your attitude. My wife is also fluent in Spanish, and Mexicans here are surprised when she understands, and then speaks to them in their language.
