I had a small fridge in my pete. I had it in between the bunk an the pad between the cab and sleeper. It was a tight fit and I still had room to walk by it to get to the sleeper.

I jumped right into buying a truck and getting authority, and the only thing I'm freaking out about is where to put the fridge lol.Last edited: Mar 5, 2009

In between my berth and cab there was vinyl pad about a 2x4 size across the floor. The fridge fit snuggly between that and the bunk on the floor. I still had about a 2 foot spot to walk by it. It would not fit in a cubby hole.
PharmPhail Thanks this. -
That is a huge issue with the new Cascadias. We have some Century Class freighshakers and some new Cascadias. the new Cascadia is nice, but the closets on each side is from the floor to the ceiling. And it is all one peice. The Century class had a cabinet behind the driver seat that easily came out, and u can put a nice big fridge in there. It was a sweet combination. I even put my microwave on top and had a few inches between the top of the nuker and the bottom of the cabinet.
the thing with the Cascadia is the cabinet does have room for a fridge. problem is it is too wide for ANY bar fridge you may want to buy from WallyWorld or anywhere else. If you want one to fit there expect to spend about 500 for a fit fridge, and even then it is small! So the floor is the only suggestion. Like i said my cooler fits on it's side nicely. But no cooler beats a fridge. especially the nice big one i had with a small freezer built in. when i am back on the road next month, (Off due a slip and fall injury/concussion right now) i might just ask for one of the older trucks. -
Pharm if you was in my neck of the woods I would sale you my fridge.

is it ok to put those colemans in the petes 387 cabinets and still have plenty of ventilation to keep cool?

Well, I had a fan die, but in the winter mine did that too (freezing stuff). I simply changed the fan. Computer fans are 12v also, and I used a 92mm Antec Tri-Cool fan. In the winter I turned the speed down (3 way speed adjustment on the Tri-Cools) and it stopped freezing stuff.

For the plug issues, buy a higher amp double ended dc plug ~10amps and cut one of the ends off (tape or solder) the old to the new 10' -6' cord and plug. -the more of the old cord you cut the better.
-for people where the plugs or cords get hot. Any larger guage insulated 2wire and heavy plug will do.
-not cold enough -fill a few 32oz or 64oz Gatorade jugs with water and freeze them at home -lids are big enough to fill with ice also.
I run an Engel (Norcold)freezer
-But they do have a two temp (two side) fridge/freezer now (better) -
I have been using an Engel in my jeep for a few years. Low draw, regulated temp, and never had a problem. It won't even drain the battery in my jeep after sitting two days (only one battery).
