My Driver Facing Camera experience (thoughts, please)?

Sounds to me like you confused your wording compared to the descriptions you gave.

They fired me because I didn’t consent to a fine levied against me that I had no prior knowledge of such policy

I was not previously made aware of the policy they were trying to enforce, it was a total surprise

Don’t worry about which policy they are trying to fire you under, pay attention to did they fire others for it, did they clearly define which policy they fired you for.

I need to know what they are saying, which I hope to know at some point.
All I know is violation of company policy.
I have not been given which policy. I am assuming "cell phone use?"
I had no idea about this policy, and I'm wondering what type of policy they are going to show the Dept. of Labor if any?
This is an example only. What if they say the policy was created July 1, 2023. However, how can they prove that I had knowledge (or I should have had knowledge)? I never signed anything, but am I suppose to ask daily of policy changes? That doesn't seem reasonable.
They know the drivers are not aware of this.
This is crazy.

 

There are 3 terminals (locations) so to speak.
At the other terminals, I really don't know what happens. However, at my terminal, I am definitely treated differently.

Others probably consented to a $150 fine and driver facing camera to keep their job.
I'm the only idiot that probably refused both and left with no income.

 

Leave the company.
If you have five years of experience and a clean record you will have no problem finding a job.

 

Company is probably over staffed at the moment and trying to eliminate some drivers … some outward cameras like motive can be turned on inside …if it’s high on the window put sun visor down if it’s supposed to be outside only ..

 

I'm not sure about over staffed at my location, but trying to eliminate me that might be the case.
My visor was always down.
It's "SUPPOSED TO BE" outside only...HMMM

 

My 2 cents is big brother is always watching ie inward facing camera and listening it's all wifi, they can play back withouy a bump or a hard break, and listen in on everything or playback, ie I hate this company, I'm going to leave ect, they have one up on you and will use it to there full advantage, wouldnt surprised if they have someone who analyze audio and video just to understand more about you.

 

This is true. They can. Several instances I heard from others and had happened to me where I scratched my head and said to myself “how did they know that?”

 

Go with a company that doesn't have driver facing cameras.
