Own it and be grateful to the current employer for not terminating your employment and offering an opportunity to drive again in the future. Albeit probably unpopular, that’s my opinion.

Up north here , even if the keys are inside the vehicle they can hook you up. If you want to sleep it off, the keys must remain outside the vehicle. Makes it a life or death decision in the winter time

The charge will be recognized by any insurance company that deals with this state.

Most insurance companies won't touch anyone with anything DUI related for 3 years; some wait 5 years and the worst one I dealt with was 10 years.

It sounds like your current company wants to keep you as they know you are a good worker while the insurance has their hands tied for 3 years.

DWIs are pretty common and mostly harmless but they can be deadly as well. Everybody makes mistakes, the key is learning and not repeating the same ones. I'd stay with my current company though and see how it plays out. Try to get it nondisclosed/expunged in time if you can.. then you can legally deny the arrest/ charge ever occured. Nobody got hurt so that's always a big plus..

    Yep
Some states don't require keys in ignition. In your pocket is all that's required. In your own driveway.

Your first offense is one year. Get busted again and you're done. Federally speaking. I don't think there's a 10 year time-frame either. Like what state has.

I’m sure this won’t be a popular opinion but I have a huge problem with that.

I’m not a fan of that either. Seems like sleeping it off in your vehicle is the responsibile thing to do

I just got my OVI reduce to physical control today I had the choice between that and reckless off and now that I think about it the reckless up would have probably been better for truck driving as it's not alcohol related. Anyways is it worth obtaining the CDL with just this on my record with no points on my Mvr? I want to be able to make at least 50,000 my first 6 months and 70 after.
