If you want a super easy way to keep track of mpg's, there is an app called "mileage keeper". I have it on my iphone and best of all, it's free. You can add as many vehicles as you like. I have my truck listed and I was averaging 5.8. I listed my truck again since I met up with Mr. Haney and now I'm averaging 6.5. Just punch in your odometer reading and gallons. It will do the rest.

I havn't noticed any diffrence. No hp increase, no smoother idle and no fuel milage increase. The first couple of weeks I was really optimistic because my mpg were up 6/10ths but I was running really light loads. like under 20000 on the flat. When I got back to my regular loads the mpg went back to my average. 6.31. Yes I know its winter but I stay on I-10 between Houston and Mobile 90% of the time so we haven't had much cold weather. I put mine on during Thanksgiving. I also have a couple of running partners and they were not aware that I had put it on. We run 64-67mph loaded(normally 74000 to 79000lbs)57mph across louisiana and 70 -72mph when empty.

Although we haven't had cold weather we still have winter fuels here as well. The fleets we are working with in Throughout Texas all have lost mileage, even the trucks without ECO's. If your unsattisfied you can return the unit.

Be aware that just winter fuel in itself cold or warm weather will drop your milage and as it gets colder and colder milage again will drop right along with the temperature.

The last several days has been beoch to monitor fuel milage,,, head winds,,, tail winds,,, and side winds on every run but this one.

Thanks for the info, that equate to 6.9% or round-off to 7% savings.
With winter blend that isn't bad. About 26 cents a gallon. -
i have a question. several times in this thread it is mentioned that you cant track the mpg because of head wind, load weight etc etc., it this device works shouldnt it increase mileage no matter the conditions?? trucking is subject to varying conditions. if a truck gets 6.0 on normal diesel and 5.5 on winter blend , if the eco taz gave a 10 per cent improvement on normal diesel to 6.6 shouldnt it also give 10 per cent to 6.05 on winter blend.
or am i looking at this in the wrong way? -
I have one of those. It's called a "notebook" where I write down odometer miles and gallons purchased every time I fuel. I got 5.45mpg this last fuel. After chaining up over Snoqualmie, running 30mp on snowpack on I5 from Seattle to Chehalis and climbing the Siskiyous at 79K, then going back down the south side at 35mph because of snow and ice.

YES,I think so but the key is trying to run under the same weight and conditions ,,,,easier said than done.

Monitoring fuel mileage is not any harder in "head winds, tail winds, or side winds" than it is to monitor it in no wind.
I get the feeling you are just cherry picking your runs to make yourself feel good about an investment.
.35mpg increase in what? The last time you did that run? Was the temperature the exact same? How about wind speed? What about realative humidity? Weight?
Not trying to pick on you but you are doing nobody any favors by cherry picking your runs/mileage. It's not fair to you or anyone else on this board.Dice1 Thanks this.
