I'm sure they probably have one of the higher turn-over rates in the industry, so I'm not sure if that 3000 gets them ahead a little or keeps them at the current level they are at...
Are they making you go with a trainer?

The recruiter said I will do 3 days orientation and then drive 200 hours with a trainer @ $9.00/hr. I should have asked if any of that 200 hours is teaming. I'm not sure I can sleep well going down the road. Well... I should be tired enough I suppose.

What school are you going to? Pre-hire means nothing, just a trick to get you in the door and hit you with a sales pitch. I know nothing about GO...could be a great company if you want to pull reefer. The megas will drive about 62mph and keep you out 3 weeks or more. Prime will try to lease you a fancy truck and may tell you that your pay didn't cover the payments on it.
Keim TS will most likely visit your school...100 miles south in Sabetha ,Ks or 100 miles NE in Fort Dodge,Ia. They'll get you home most weekends and you'll make good money right away....flatbed with good pay and bonuses that are real. -
I am going to CDDT in Omaha, NE

He didn't mention flatbed, but yes, Keim TS would be a good choice and they drive those fancy studio sleeper trucks.

Prime trucks must be the slowest on the road. If you can tolerate that, you should do well there.Canned Spam and Chinatown Thank this.

If I'm not mistaken, those private schools by Sapp Brothers try to steer you to Werner. If you're interested in flatbed you should give Keim a call.
I think the private schools are much shorter than SCC or other state schools as well.....4 or 5 weeks?? Good luck to you. Driving around that area will definitely prepare you for the real thing. -
If I was going full time it would be a 4 week class, I am going PT M-Thursday from 4-8pm. So it will take 10 weeks.
I have Keim and a few others on my calendar to call later next week. -
SCC took 10 weeks but I felt it was better because it was easier to get acclimated to driving a 70 foot rig. This after I'd been driving dump trucks, buses, flatbeds for construction companies most of my life. I think you come out far better prepared than guys who take a quickie course.

The first 50 hours has your mentor sitting in the passenger seat. After that, if your mentor feels you're doing well enough, you will go team.
I didn't have any problems sleeping on the road. Well, most of the time; I-78 in PA is an exception.
