AT, I used to be the same way with doctors but with all the new wonderful technology out here, they hardly even have to touch you anymore to look at stuff.

Hey AT
Sorry just getting a change to catch up (been busy lately!!)
Get that foot checked out!!! Okay Mom's a nurse but so am I and my first thing to say to you would be ''GO to an Urgent care center if you won't go to the ER!!"
seriously you can be seen quickly get Xrays and be out in a few hours vs HOURS and HOURS at the hospital. Also IF you reported this to the company and I do believe you said you did-this is workers comp covered not outta your pocket at all!! It may be a bruise or sprain but w/o treatment you may be jeopardizing yourself years down the line!! Trust me I sprained my ankle 8 years ago and got treatment and to this day it still acts up!!
Please for all of us that follow you and consider you our family-take care of yourself!!!!!!!American-Trucker, chralb and AF461 Thank this. -
AT - Look for an Urgernt Care Center. They are like a Hospital ER but the cost is a lot less. Get to one first thing in the morning, and you should be able to get in and out. Look one up on the net for a city you are going to be in, use Google maps to see if there is parking close by.American-Trucker Thanks this. -
If you are still in Conover, there is Uni-Four Urgent Care on Fairgrove Chruch Rd right across from the Hospital AT. That is less then a few miles from the terminal.

AT I'll loan you my pocket knife and you can just cut it off, tyen it won't be blu oe hurt or banything like that, while you have my knife just carve yourself a stub out of the bone sticking out
I'm joking I'm sure I have the MOmS up in arms and all flustered, but seriously go get it checked, I walk like I have a corn cob somewhere because I didn't follow up with my physical therapy, and keep exercising my back while it was healing, so go get it checked. See Ya. -
Have any of you put in a Workmans Comp Claim against Watkins Shepard ? He will probably be fired if he does!! Even though hes there internet recruiter (just kidding) he will most likely be reprimanded for costing the company money. No hate towards W/S but i think they operate like most others.

i hurt my left shoulder (still hurts sometimes), my left elbow (still hurts sometimes) and my back. i had a load of cat skid steers bound for canada, and there was no way i was going into canada with my back acting up. so i called in and said you need to repower this load. no problem they said, just make you stop in billings (drop two skid steers, man handle chains and binders, climb up on trailer, etc) and then swap trailers with a guy in helena. once you've done all that, you can come on home to missoula (but make sure you clean out your truck so we can get some use out of it).
so i did all that, and went to see my chiropractor. after i was adjusted, i went home and laid down on a foam mat on the floor. and coughed.
big mistake. the cough, which was sudden and deep, tore a disc that was damaged when i fell on the ice. i was just barely able to take care of myself after that, and was out of work for something like 2.5 months, and then was on light duty for another 2 months or so.
watkins and shepard never squawked about the chiropractor bills, the lost time, the light duty, any of it. they treated me pretty well, all in all.
i've heard stories of guys falling out of their truck and breaking their arm and getting fired for it, but i've never talked to anybody where this actually happened. it may have happened, but: a) it didn't happen to me, and b) without some proof, this is just another dumb trucker driver story.American-Trucker Thanks this. -
Not only do I think WS wouldn't do that from a personal level, but if they did, they'd now be on the hook for the Workman's comp AND unemployment. Yea...great business move....LOLAmerican-Trucker Thanks this. -
Hey AT I know how you feel about going to a hospital. You should (if you haven't already) make a report about it. Later down the road (1month to a couple of years) if you end up needing surgery or something you don't want it coming out of your pocket! Your call, you are the only one who knows what condition you are in.
