Depending on the temp. My underbunk heater doesn't work (hasn't since I got the truck) shop has been unable to fix, so I idle.

So I got up and got loaded then drove back to the TS and parked because of High winds, snow, ice, and I-80 being closed due to a Big truck accident with a fatality.

So after just takeing a 10 hour break...I took another 10 hour break then left this morning at 10:15am EST.

Drove about halfway to Iowa 80 and I start hearing I-80 is closed in IL so I figure ok I'll go to Iowa 80 since its huge and has to pilots right next to it...so i should be able to park there right???? WRONG

    STUCK in Davenport, IA

FML.....All roads out are closed due to People that can't plow the F***in Roads! Now I'm stuck in Davenport, IA 15 hours from the receiver and the DOT has NO idea when they might open the roads again! WTF

IOWA 80 the world biggest truck stop.....CLOSED! Because there 900+ parking spots are FULL and all of the Isles are full of trucks and everywhere else is snow, now everyone is stuck no one can get in OR out and they can't plow because they cant fit one in there......same thing for the TWO pilots at that exit so I had to come to the J down the street which is a Fluster Cluck! again no one in or out and can't plow because of trucks....Well I got in and found a driver going west and took his front row spot so I should be able to get out...I hope.

Oh and every road and ramp is LINDED with Trucks.....

And of course the broker is CLOSED because they cant get to work...and I cant get to the receiver and I can't get ahold of the broker to have them move the apt time.....

I called the IL state police to see if they know when 74 would be open they have no idea but they do know that its 100% covered in snow and ice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And as I was getting off 80 to pull into this J I hear on the CB the Dennys inside just closed because there out of food.....It just keeps on getting better!

I must have seen 50+ cars/pickups/SUV's off the road or upside down and at least 20 Big Trucks off the road/jacknifed/upside down.......There was a real nice one i thought was kinda funny a Swift truck/a werner truck/ and some other company truck was all kacknifed faceing the wrong way in the ditch and all smushed up against each other :yes2557:

Yeah, don't even bother to move. Grab a movie and pop it into the laptop and rest. Been there, done that and dont EVER want to get caught in a snow drift again.

BTW, think about this..... that Denny's is closed because they are out of food. Remind people about this when they whine about trucks on the roads. Without trucks on the road, this country would shut down in 3 days or less. No food in the grocery stores and restaurants other than rotting meat and wilting vegetables.

    Food for thought....
