When a Mercer contractor posts per mile rates it will always be to the truck.

Hey bro. That's just loaded per mile. And that is just the drivers end including the fsc. Mercers and the agents cut is already deducted.
All those loads up to and including TX to TX I avg 2.00 p/m for all miles. Which is good in my opinion.

And a LS driver will almost always post the gross rate, as our percentages are different, depending on how old your contract is and what equipment you are pulling.

Yep, freight is picking up. The amount not the rates.

Seeing some very good rates, within 100 of the house.

    Howdy,

If life at Mercer is typical as in your postings it seems like a no-brainer........

Currently I'm pulling for Warren out of Waterloo, IA (nearly 100% John Deere machines) and enjoy it alot except for the deadhead when you're not near a Warren terminal. Getting broker freight is almost unheard.

I have a 49' Wilson Stepdeck, fixed spread, all aluminum that I can rent for about $600.00 a month.
I have a set of lumber tarps that I have never unrolled. I don't even carry them because they are so dang heavy and our loads don't require tarps except maybe 1% of the time and I say 'NO THANKYOU" to those when we have so much freight that doesn't needed tarped. Yeah, I'm spoiled in that aspect.

It's the deadhead that kills it here. Unload in Dimmitt, TX and you'll deadhead to either Laredo, TX or Hesston, KS. Pretty much 500 miles in either direction!!!

What are you thoughts on my potential of success living in Kansas City, wanting to get thru the house often and making money. Yeah, I know, I'll have to tarp way more than I do here, but it will be with lighter and smaller tarps if I can help it.....:biggrin_25523:

    Thx!

Lucky dog I don't see a problem with mercer on where you live should be able to do well. I turn down loads all the time going to KCMO. I don't run our trucks that far west. It's just my preference on it and my drivers. I like to try to get my drivers home every weekend and the freight lanes I run make that happen being in Tennessee. Living in KCMO you can basically run Midwest and leave it like that. I turned down a lot of KCMO freight every week I told my LC to just take Missouri out of my preferences. With mercer we are averaging about $2.05 a mile for all miles on the trucks I run.
