Yes. At 25 it kicks you onto Drive status with no way to retain another duty status.
Personal conveyance is only turned on “as it may be needed”. You’ll have to plead your case during business hours and it will automatically be turned back off (the option in Omnitracs) 12-36 hours later.

According to fmcsa, you can use pernsonal conveyance to get to the nearest safe parking area if customer refuses to let you stay on property
jeff18 Thanks this. -
Correct. And this has to be reconciled with the tendency of truck driver human nature of abusing anything that can be abused in lieu of better trip planning. So. It’s available but not available to be abused by many who certainly would.mushroom1464 and jeff18 Thank this.

Walmart has gotten a little better on average. Fairly simple and/or partials they will often get you your bills at 1.5-2 hours past appointment time. However full and complex loads they will call you within about 5 minutes of the 4 hour mark after appointment time, almost without fail.
I always pull into the driveway 50-40 minutes before the appointment and this usually seems to work well to get straight to a door and checked in in time. But even if you’re in a door 90 minutes early, they won’t start unloading until appointment time or a little later.Last edited: Dec 9, 2018

I've had mine on there for 3 weeks now after I told Cindy I needed it to get parked after running out of hours getting loaded.

This is not the first time you've mentioned looking elsewhere. Running hard all the time finally taking it's toll?

No. I like the tempo here at Holland and the lanes and the freight and the customers but I draw the line at perhaps having to become one of those idiots forced to sometimes having to drive around truck stops and shippers at 4 mph trying to preserve a break so they can make a decent wage and not miss appointments and preplans because of hard appointments all over the geographic and clock map. Some good weeks will become bad or mediocre weeks. I’m not sure they understand yet how much many drivers do to make their loads happen and I for one hate shifting my schedule back and forth any more than necessary. Every time you’re forced to shift your schedule to get back to your preferred schedule, you can lose lots of time.
They’re going to lose grandfathered status on EOBR rules in December 2019. The Personal Conveyance allowance will help in a handful of situations but it’s not a solution they will tolerate for useage in other “illegal applications” like gently moving to a midnight appointment, unloading, and back to your sleeping spot to leave at 06:00 to your next pickup (that has iffy early arrival parking) and having a fresh clock.Last edited: Dec 9, 2018
