That's not what I'm saying Jeff. What I am saying is.... this is the reality of truck driving. No recruiting promo video is going to show this reality. They are going to show their shiny new tractors with a beautiful rainbow in the background draped across a painted desert. Just admiring the reality photos and wish more new drivers knew exactly what to expect.

Which is why I suggest drivers go for the most money and the best working conditions they can. Because this is a job that can kill you.

Question: what do the daycabs make? I see them around Iowa all the time and they seem fairly happy

So quick question just cause i am curious. Do the trailer washouts get covered? Like do you just pull up to the beacon and they call and get a PO like Prime and Schaffer do or does it come out of the drivers pocket?

They don't even have to call. They just run it through their System..
Show up tell them company/truck/trailer # (fill out on notepad) and it's authorized.
Never ever had an issue at Beacon with Washouts.

If you ever pull a virgin trailer out of the yard and later need to wash it out, there’s a chance somebody forgot to add the trailer number to the blue beacon authorized list and the charge was declined. Happened to me once. And the same for fuel authorization. Just run inside and remind whoever is responsible for that to make sure it’s done.

    Good to know. :)

Had it happen with Fuel.. I called the office they had no idea why it wasn't working.

Since they had no idea what's going on I just used my old trailer number for like a week.

Well should be able to do my DOT and drug test on the 26th. When they rent you a car do you just go in and get the keys or do yoi need to take anything with you? Also any Holland drivers out there doing the owner op thing with them or buying a truck from them? Thank you.
