Wait hold the phone, did I read where you have to send a dispatcher 100.00 a month to his home address???
Wonder how many are doing that little scam???
Time to keep copies of the notes being sent and then burn their happy arse....BigRedNY and americanmadetrucker Thank this. -
That is grounds for immediate termination at Swift ... They've fired terminal managers in the past for condoning that ...you can't even buy your DM a cup of coffee.Unknown0453 and A21CAV Thank this.

That cash bribe was more common then you could realize a swift. It happened a lot when I was there. I never saw someone get fired for it though. The only dispatcher that got fired was the one taking sexual favors in the back of the sleeper on company time. And she only got canned because she texted another office troll about her exploits.
At one time or another some terminals put up memos saying gratuities and bribes were against company policy. Like I said I never seen or hear of someone getting fired for it. I have seen all kind of gratuities given, usually food, some home cooking, but sometimes just blank envelopes were dropped on planners/dispatcher's desks.
I remember my mentor would not send his truck into the shop without getting a little something from the food truck and Ice cream machine for the service writer and shop foreman. He also had a little bonus for his dispatcher but he never told me the amount.Unknown0453 Thanks this. -
My 2nd trainer did/does, he sends him a couple hundred a Month. His DM gets planners to give him good loads + warns him of randoms testing. How I don't know I always thought randoms was a one day type thing. I haven't had one yet so Idk how it works.

You should put a nickle in an envelope and give it to your trainer. When he asks why you did it tell him that's how much you think he's worthghjjf, Lightside, Canned Spam and 4 others Thank this.

This is the first I have ever heard of bribes being given to dispatch. Also, your road tester said "time for lunch so you all pass"? This is getting harder and harder to believe.

I will say this first, this is not personal towards you. This is in general for all new rookies.
Some people need to grow a back bone. Stand up for yourself. You feel unsafe, uncomfortable, what every. Stand up for yourself and put your foot down. You can not and should not go thru life getting walked on or over by anyone or any company.
I don't care what your situation is and how desperate you are for a job, you should stand up for yourself and respect yourself.
I sit in a seat and someone blasts the music and there will be two choices, turn it down and act civilized when company is around or pull the fug over and let me out.
My feet are wet cause your ac is broken ? LOL watch me lay down in back and if thats a problem, PULL over and IM out!
Seriously, some of you rookie drivers get pissed on and sht on by these big mega carriers and you just sit there and take it. Its amazing.
Your an adult. Command some respect for yourself. Make a stand in your life or you will die being someones floor mat for ever.BigRedNY, scottied67, Canned Spam and 9 others Thank this. -
Wow, I need to get my pig barn cleaning boots on, it's getting deep in here.

But at least it's entertaining, even if the believability of it is less than well, believable.
