Yup... for the most part I agree wholeheartedly with what was said... however I can defend him and salute b.c most newbies are arrogant. He was patient.
The secret is to find a balance between the two

You know how to prevent that so-called work jumping ethic so many are quick to point out? Form your own llc and work for urself...that way for example I can say I have a stable work history bc I've been working 4 myself this whole timescottlav46, Unknown0453 and drvrtech77 Thank this.

Wow, that is a crazy experience. I'm not sure what to say other than that we all have pretty individualized experiences with all these companies, especially when companies are large.
Your experience was pretty much a nightmare and sounds like the beginning of a pretty interesting novel. The bribe thing is especially weird. Brings me back to my days of being a hack driving a cab in Jersey City. Our following day success was directly related to how much we tipped our dispatcher at the end of the night or what kind of favors we did for them.
Overall I had a different experience with Swift. Compared to my current company, they were gold. However, as I wrote on my own Swift thread "Starting the New Year With Swift", I had a nightmare experience of my own with Swift trainers. At least with the first 3. The 4th was great. Now I work for a much smaller company whereby they have a higher driver retention rate with many drivers with 15+ years experience. Sounds great, right? But for me it's been an absolute horror show due to my driver manager whom is the devil incarnate and due to a position that was misrepresented. So each experience with these companies can run the gamut.Unknown0453 Thanks this. -
The Qualcomm has a "report critical event" option on one of the menus. You can manually activate a critical event warning, at least on schneiders Qualcomm. Cool thing is it doesn't tell them what it was for and they can't figure it out. I did that a few times to #### with safety when they pissed me off. They think the sensor is malfunctioning perhaps but they pull their hair out trying to figure it out.

Werner's Quallcomm has the manual activation as well. In either case they will try to contact you via QC and your cell phone.

That's easier sd then done. Specially when ur thousands of miles away from home with 0 dollars in ur pocket. I don't know about u but I wouldn't want to get stranded someplace I don't know with no way to get home....
Also The days I spent in the hotel in Gary Indiana I had 3 roommates. They all "stood up for themselves" and where are they now? I know one for sure is working at mcdonalds the other 2 I heard them on the phone with Swift. They treat it like it's your fault at least those 3 they did. They told one other guy I'll put you on another truck but if it don't work out your on ur own. The other he said he threatened to kick his mentors ###, because his mentor was yelling at him and he felt like a child. I heard the person on the other end telling him he can't do that and he would have to come to the terminal the next day. I never saw him again.
And not to mention all the reading I've done about companies ####ing people over. One example I saw lots of: people quit, and when they try to find work they have a drug test refusal. Cause they quit on a friday on Monday the company throws a BS DT on them without telling them. They never show up cause they don't know about it. It goes on their record....
Another thing I have bills I'm sure a lot of you do trucking school to me cost 9000 dollars with interest I'm not going to get ####ed over because I "stood up for myself" I knew I had to hang in there for a month and in my case it took a little longer but I made it. I had to deal with a lot of bs but I did it. Like I said I'm almost at 100000 miles I've never hit anything or anyone.. I've basically had to learn everything myself other then what I learned at the school I went to which was great the instructors were awesome. Out of 8 people me and another guy passed the first time because we were committed to it. We actually showed up early worked on our pretrip, we practiced backing over and over. Out of the whole school the tester said I got the fastest pretrip he's ever seen which was 17 minutes and not missed one thing... so give me a ####ing break doormat or not I was not going to #### my hard work for some pride ########.... this thread is like the title said my experience at swift.. just sharing with whomever feels like reading it.. .Dumdriver, fastlanedanny, 59EX and 4 others Thank this. -
I agree with you every one has their experience. Some good some bad some worse. I know how hard it is to deal with bad DM, I have one myself. They can and will make your life hell. I hope things get better for you.

Lol true. only this I learned from him was macros 1-9.stevep1977 Thanks this.

I have no reason to lie or make this up. I'm just trying to share my story. At the end of the day none of you will know who I am. Mostly for people that want to go with this company to realize it's not as easy as I thought it was going to be.

Ask some of the employees that were fired in Laredo when caught taking cash for giving drivers good loads. Jerry went down and cleaned houseToomanybikes Thanks this.
