The only enemy you have here is yourself. If you didn't post idiotic nonsense you wouldn't get flamed nearly as much.

So,,you verify the load is ready,,scale in the mt ,and drop it,,,your trailer is still backed to a dock with a red light. Verify again,,,will be 7 hrs,,,leave for food and a shower,,report back to the gate,,,refused cause didn't have an mt. Call dispatch,,they of course are cozy with the shipper,,,just go look here,,or there ? " but what about all the inbounds with empty barrels being used for storage ? ". Shut up driver,,do you want a load out of here or not.....uh no..where can I leave the keys ? Guard shack ?
......Another load assigned in 15 minutes,,,,did it twice,,,no more. Got tired of delivering a load of hatred...most anything is better than AB. St.Louis.

That AB plant in Columbus does suck royally. Had to pickup there once, cost me 30 hours in layover because they screwed up the order twice. Finally, my company sent me elsewhere but what a pain they were to deal with!

Never, ever will haul AB product again. Period. Overall, the one I've had the least amount of problems with over the years is the one in GA, north of Atlanta off of 75. But the total number of free hours of labor and waiting Ive given them since 1997 more than offsets any positive experiences.

Sounds like AB needs an exclusive account with a company that charges $20 or more per hour detention after 1 hr....maybe that would light a fire under their arses!!!

I was chatting with a driver who does dedicated AB out of Ft. Collins (Werner, I think)....he told me they're on salary at less than 800 a week. Thanks, but no thanks.

We've hauled 2 loads for AB. We'll never ever haul any more. The only reason we hauled 2 was because we figured maybe the first load was an unusual situation Our driver waited 6 hours to get loaded. We pay our drivers by the hour and by the time he drove down there, got loaded and delivered he was on time and a half. He was also short on hours and had a day-cab so we bought him a motel for the night. After expenses I think we netted just about enough money for a donut and a cup of coffee for the dispatcher.
The second load was worse. 8 hours of waiting with the same results and expenses as the first load.
We'll never haul for them again.

    Grouch Thanks this.
