So Jb works for some but not for others. I did chi reg intermodal for over a year. 90% drop and hook and always and I say always had a double pre plan so I never sat and I was home 2 full days every week paid deadhead miles home . I did 64k. Some make money at Jb and others don't. Every company has it's negatives and positives. Jb just big enough everyone knows them

Reputations. Says you are involved in trucking for 22 years. Reputations. Cool.

Thank you for pointing out that I haven't updated my profile since I've signed up to the forums.

That was a nice try, trying to distract from the original conservation.

It doesn't change the fact that JB Hunt is the bottom of the barrel as far as carriers go. It's a popular destination for recent trucking school graduates and for drivers who can't find a better carrier. They are well known in the industry for their low compensation and backstabbing.

    You're the cool one. Cool.

When I hear drivers talk about large companies it tells me a few things..... You might be the best truck driver in the world but you know nothing about logistics or running a billion dollar company. Do you know how much money it takes to run a professional website? How about contracts with repair shops all around the country? How about paying taxes on properties around the country. How about paying insurance or 401K match? stock options?

The fact is you probably work for a nice guy with 5 trucks out of 1 yard and the guy treats you like his best friend. ( cozy feeling time ) but you don't realize that this guy has 500 bucks in the bank and doesn't even own any of the equipment.

In closing, please leave the logistics to the big boys and just drive the darn truck.

    Hi Wicked Wizard,

    How are you?

Have you yourself ever owned or managed a trucking company, or any other business?

God bless every American and their families! God bless the U.S.A.!

I have never owned or managed a truck driving company. I can imagine that it would be extremely hard, especially in light of all the DOT rules and insurance policies that are in force today. I was a manager in another field years ago and currently enjoy my job as a local driver.

    mje Thanks this.

Jb Hunt is for Noobs and everyone knows it. It's always been a steppingstone to a real trucking job.

I own mine now and I actually do understand quite a bit about the business aspects of trucking.
