If u dont mind crow what were ur incidents for. Another question i heard they were going to a point system instead of the 3 strikes your out rule. Is there any truth to that

I have no idea about any policy changes that have taken place since I left. Leannamarie's husband drives for them currently and she might be better to ask than I am.

My incidents were in my first year with PAM. I hit a landscaping boulder with the right front of the tractor while backing into a dock in Chicago and didn't do any real damage, but I was new and thought I had to report it to the company. I didn't realize that it would come back to haunt me later. Incidents #2 and 3 were both while backing into a parking spot at a truck stop. Both times I hit the truck on my passenger side with the trailer. One was an O/O's nice and shiny Freightliner Classic XL and the other was a smaller company's Columbia. The Classic I hit on the mirror and the stack. The Columbia I hit the sleeper (scraped the paint on it) and broke the turn signal that's on the cab extenders of those trucks.

Not until the time came when I was trying to find work after leaving what was supposed to be a dream job. That was over a year after leaving PAM. When I took that "dream job", my "accidents" were never mentioned.

Any citation you've received, regardless of what you were driving at the time, will affect your employment. However, rest assured that KLLM will let you know before you get to orientation whether anything will be a deciding factor on hiring you or not. Just don't try to hide anything.

Thanks crow very helpful info. Ive never had a problem with the unsafe driving. I used to work for werner and jb hunt and trust me i aint bragging. But they never made a big deal about it. Kllm shouldnt it i hope. But i heard some companies consider unsafe driving the same as reckless which is not true.

hauled my first load with this carrier on 10/13/06. By the end of the year I had been dispatched just shy of 29,000 miles (about 1300 shy of the 30,000 mile minimum in 3 months to get the 3 cpm bonus).

They should give you the bonus if breakdown issues out of your control, kept you from getting the miles. They did when I worked there, but that was a long time ago.

I worked for KLLM back when they still drove Cab-overs and had slip seating. I thought they where a great company to work for, but I live in the Seattle area and their nearest terminal was in Woodland Ca at the time. The 700+ mile commute and a different truck every time I left the house, caused me to look for employment elsewhere.

I'm sure some veteran drivers remember getting stuck behind are 58mph trucks loaded with cheese. I had to to turn my cb off on the hills because all I heard was, come on Clem get your slow arse moving. Sorry but 9 speed 350HP engines don't pull to well.

They have come a long way since then, and when I worked there they would keep those who wanted to work rolling. The one down side of the company was, that they delivered to Food Lion and a Company called Bi Low 2 of the worst receivers I have ever been to, and I have been to many in 17 years+. other then that, they treated me good and paid what they owed and had obtainable bonuses.

My husband does not know about this, but he also admits to not always paying attention to the driver information announcements.
