I don't know current policy, but it used to be if you lived over 100 miles from a terminal, you could take the truck home. Then about the time we moved, they increased the distance to over 150 miles. But my husband can't take it home anymore. They said that 240 miles is too far to take it home. He tried to get permission when he got his new truck and wanted to take it home to clean it, but they wouldn't let him.

That is the way with life, there is good and bad in everything. At some point you just roll the dice and go with it. What three companies are you considering?

werner(i know) may trucking or kllm. i like may cause i can get the western region pretty easy but kllm seems to pay better, and werner is werner. two guys from my class are there and 1 says run the other way, and the other says he loves it. hard to judge when they have only been there since monday. if kllm can give me a western route, then its a no brainer for me to pick them.

KLLM won't give you a western regional until you have 6 months, so if that is really important you might want to go with May. I would stay FAR, FAR away from Werner, but that is just me. My brother-in-law just went to work for them.

I no, i will stay away from them. western is kinda important, but 6 months is that bad. just afraid they would be able to help me with that when the time comes. thanks for all the input.

    Hey there LeannaMarie!

Jumped over here to grab more information about KLLM since you had mentioned them to me on another thread, and I can't tell you how much I appreciate the information you have posted on this thread.

Needless to say, KLLM has moved to the top of my list and I have every intention of contacting them tomorrow morning to try to move forward in hiring on with them.

As a newbie or a wannabe, I just want you to know how invaluable your posts along with Chip and so many others has been. Hats off to ya for taking the time to help us weed through all of the posts.

FYI - if need be, I have a gmail account, using the name broncobuddy being as I am unable to pm yet.

    Thanks again!

Happy to help, I was in the same boat 2 years ago and others helped me. I'm just telling it like it is without glorifying anything, someone else might have a completely different experience with the company.
