I use to run out of the morrow terminal when I worked there. Is Sunny a blonde that use to work the front desk there? Just wondering if they were the same - I could certainly understand the problems if they are.

Man, this ain't lookin' good for me. I was supposed to be in an Orientation in October after I finished school. Two days before leaving, I broke my foot. I had to call the company and tell them. They said to call when my foot was mended and they would reschedule me. It looks like I will be available for work in late February or early March. Man I hope things get a little better as KLLM was the only company I really had my sights on. I also had pre-hires from CTL, U.S. Express and SRT. But now I'm wondering if I went to trucking school for nothing now. Seems like everybody is cutting back. Please keep the posts comming for me. I'll keep checking back.

They are still hiring, they have just tightened up the requirements. One of my husband's friends was just hired.

LOL, have you seen truck drivers? Good looks would not be a job requirement. They have tightened up their hiring areas for sure. I know of about 5 people who were not hired in the past few months. It sounds like they are looking a little closer at your driving record as well, nothing wrong with that.

How is your foot healing up?

I just got hired right out of trucking school by KLLM on 1/17, and my orientation is Jan. 12th in Jackson. When I called back this week to talk to a recruiter they have stopped hiring right now. I don't know if this is just for student drivers, or not. Anybody else going to Jackson on 1/12? I am from Detroit, MI suburbs. BTW, I have been lurking on this board for a while and it has helped me in choosing a company. THANKS to all on this thread, as well as other parts of this board.

They have a hiring freeze until 12-31-08 cause too many drivers and not enough trucks. They are replacing all the old white and green Centuries with the gold Cascadias plus getting rid of all Internationals for gold Cascadias. They also have cut down the areas where they hire cause of freight. Where I live, they no longer hire from cause freight comes in but none go out. Check with your recruiter each time you talk with them. But once you get a date for orientation, you are secure.

Also, remember the 1st 6 to 8 weeks of a new year is slow for everybody whether the economy is good or bad. Be patient and hope to be in the right place at the right time, always.

BTW; I had to give back my white Century for a Cascadia and what a difference. So quiet and the ride is smoother. Storage space under the bunk is less (I have an APU) but overall I'm liking the Truck more and more each day. They spec'ed them O/O style minus the extra gauges.

    heysteveh Thanks this.
