    Ledbetter,

    :tongue2:

Now I'm flippin' jealous. I'm in a gold Century that I refer to as "The automatic, crap-tastic, POS".

Yes, it is an automatic. There are no words to adequately describe how I truly feel about this truck. This is the first time IN MY LIFE that I have driven an automatic. My family is manual transmission all the way. I got this truck I have now....my left foot and right hand are so confused they are going to need therapy.

Didn't find out it was on the trade list until AFTER I signed up for the O/O program. So now they are going to make me keep it until I buy my truck. This was OK when the O/O class was scheduled for Jan. 5th but now they're rescheduling it for late Jan / early Feb.

    AAAARRRRGGGGGGHHHHHH!!!!

    RT
(counting the weeks, days, hours and seconds...)

    Baack Thanks this.

    RT,

I feel for ya on that one. I wouldn't know what to do in a rig that was automatic. A lot of my cars have been automatic (gotta take what I can find at cheap prices), but a rig that's an automatic just does not seem right.

Hope KLLM doesn't have to many automatics... I definitely want to drive a stick for the experience coming out of driving school. I think it might limit my future opportunities if I come right out of school to drive an automatic. I would have no real experience to show on a stick for future jobs (other then school). Any comments on this?

I never saw any autos when I worked at KLLM, but that was a couple of years ago. However, I did start my driving career with PAM who has only automatics in their trucks and I have never had a problem getting a job since then.

WARNING FOR THE ORIENTATION GUYS -- SUPER 8 MOTEL RICHLAND MS PROBLEM

I'm just back from Jackson and orientation. All happy except for one thing:

A couple days after getting back, I broke out with literally hundreds of bug bites all over my body, mostly in places that are exposed to the air when I sleep -- upper arms, back of legs, back (stomach sleeper, with my arms over my head).

While I was at the motel I saw a couple creepy crawlies, and figured it was the usual no big deal, every building has a critter or two so I flicked them away. After I broke out with the rash I checked out what was going on:

    Bed bugs.

Some people think they're a childhood fairy tale. They're real, and this hotel has em.

The bites showing up 7-10 days AFTER being bitten is within range of what's normal.

They travel easily and you could potentially introduce them into your home or your truck. You do NOT want this, because cleaning an infestation can run to thousands of dollars, and be positively horrific.

There are plenty of sites that will tell you what to check for and how to keep from getting an infestation in a hotel. Please save yourself some trouble.
