    Hey Huskerdog,

Tried to PM you, but I don't have the required post count yet. I should be going to the March 2nd orientation, so we should try to meet up. You taking a Grayhound or flying in? I'm supposed to get a call tomorrow from a recruiter setting up my Grayhound ticket, but I'm going to ask if I can fly. I found a plane ticket from Southwest Airlines that is about the same price as Grayhound. But I'll just do whatever they want. Just glad to have a job!!

The recruiter told me today that starting mileage pay was decreased to 32cpm for new drivers. That combined with no 401k matching and no tuition reimbursement, I hope KLLM isn't suffering financially. Otherwise, it sounds like a great company.

I think KLLM is still strong, they are just making sure that they remain strong. My husband did over 12K miles in January, and that was with 7 days off. Of course we won't talk about the heck that was February, but that was due to bad luck, not the company.

12k with 7 days off? That's fantastic! I got my HazMat yesterday (on top of my doubles/triples and tanker) and am ready to roll. I have the choice between KLLM, FFE, and Werner. It's good to hear KLLM still has the miles. That's one of the reasons I want refer right now. The last thing people will stop buying is food...right?

Thanks for the update leannamarie. I'm so anxious to get started. I hope I get a good trainer!

December was just as busy for him. February however is a whole different story. He will be lucky to get 5K for the month.:biggrin_2551:

Ouch, can I ask why? Breakdowns?

Breakdowns and bad luck. Two weekends in a row he sat the entire weekend. These last 3 weeks have been jinxed. He picked up a $2700 ticket. Got stuck in the mud and needed a towtruck. Had to give away his load home last weekend because they didn't expect to get the truck fixed until Monday, then figured out a different way to fix it and had it done Saturday. Then sat the entire weekend waiting for a load. Didn't even have an empty trailer at this point because someone came and took it while he was in the shop. Had they not finished the truck until Monday, he would have at least earned the breakdown pay.

So do we! He actually has been kicking around the thought of maybe becoming a trainer in the future.
