I'm pretty sure the trucking companies still have to make the lease payments on those trucks that are just sitting.

I think it has to do more with sterio tgpes then it does pay. Someone with no experience will be more willing to learn and try new things compared to an experienced driver that knows everything because when they were over at xyz company they did it this way instead of that way. It goes the same for lease op's. They wont haul heavy because it busts up theyre truck, they wont run north east cause they dont want their truck to get hit, they dont do Florida because of cheap freight. So some companies dont have room for lease contractors simple because they dont have time to cater.

from what I understand, buying the truck is the cheap part...it's all the licensing, insurances, fees, fees and FEES that'll add up quick (and regularly).

Just a thought, in case they try to *ding* you for not moving the truck... (See #5): fmcsa.dot.gov/rules-regulations/administration/w-blower. htm
Hopefully it won't come to that, and it seems they're being at least halfway reasonable. Glad they've got you scheduled for the shop.
Been following your experience for a few days now. Hope things start looking up.

Btw, mitchtazz, have you ever heard anything about the Denver terminal (good/bad/ugly)? (NOT trying to hijack the thread.. I'm just too new to send a message directly.. sorry.)

I can't see the page about the blower or whatever that is about sitting a truck.

I'm not parked by choice.... I mean, I COULD move the truck and drive, but I'm not prepared for the possible consequences of moving a truck with a broken exhaust.

Hey Smaggs, believe me, you are doing fine, with your attitude. Start looking around at what else is out there, and you will find better work than Knight. The fact that you can handle what has been thrown at you, and not become a chronic complainer, will open doors for you. 8 months might seem like a short time, but it is all some places are looking for. Just look around. If you don't find anything, you don't have to worry, since you are still working. Believe me, if you can handle working for Knight, you can handle anything. Better times are ahead for a guy like you.

    Jarhed1964 and Smaggs Thank this.

Leaving shortly to take my tractor to Cummins. I'll update with my diagnosis and any other info that comes when I can.
