I'm dealing with Atlanta on this . I've gotten the same information from two different people. My title is currently on hold until I pay the sales tax.

I didn't do it, I found out in Miss you don't have to pay sales tax as long as you apply for and purchase an IRP plate. Simple form you fill out stating you are going to purchase a plate.
@Old Man maybe he can help, he has been around longer than dirt. -
I certainly wouldn't pay it until I exhausted every other option. -
Lots of new rules in Georgia and Landstar would not be able to tell you. The tag offices can not even keep up with it. I have a single axle 34,000 GVW with an 18,000 Lb tag on it because they wanted to know what it weighs. A friend of mine has a F350 single wheel with a 26,000 Lb tag out of the same office. Pulled an old pickup out of a soleproprietorship to personal name for college boy. Needed to pay sales tax and ad valorem tax again? High impact fees on real trucks? Their just working on getting blood out of your turn up, the government not Landster. The buck stops in Atlanta, good luck.
whoopNride and Bro_Dave Thank this. -
Why are you titling it in GA. Both of my trailers have been titled in IL. It shouldn't be any different. How about IN since LS gets there plates out of there as well? Or have you already titled it in GA and now screwed?
whoopNride Thanks this. -
