P&D is awesome. Linehaul sucks. The money on linehaul is better but the lifestyle sucks.

LTL P&D is fun, or at least for me it is. Linehaul would bore me to death. Even OTR gets old for me if I spend too much time in the same lanes.

Just got to mix it up a little. I do the same run every day...but I have about 6 different ways I can go. The longest route is about 30 miles more than the shortest route....and they are all within 15-20 minutes on the drive time.

Best part about doing the same run all of the time is that you know where the cheap fuel stops are, which fuel stops print time stamps on the receipts and which ones don't, which fuel stops let you refill your mug for free with the fill-up, where to find decent food, where to find help if you need it (i.e. shops, parts, etc...), which stores along the way you can get the truck into...

...not to mention, being home every night is awesome.

Good luck with the new job and keep us updated. Healthcare is going up constantly. When I first started here, I paid nothing for healthcare. Now I pay $149.00 per month. It covers health, dental and vision with a $15.00 co pay for a doctor visit.

I'm not complaining though. It's a lot less than others have to pay.

Orientation is done and got my truck (kinda disapponted with it), it doesnt run or drive real good but maybe it will work out. So now I'm home for some time off (since I only live an hour away) and then off to Houston for load securement week.
