What about chalking the wheels with wood then releasing both tractor and trailer brakes.

When the shutdown light starts blinking, try tapping the clutch pedal. That used to work on some of the older Cats.

I had it high idleing, that didnt work, so i thought hmmm maybe idle higher? so i set it at 1000rpm, and when it YEY AGAIN started flashing, i just pulled down on the trailer break for a sec and the high idle cut off and the light stopped flashing.....8 min so far and still running!

    Thank you! :biggrin_25514:

hmm...guess you found out what their idle policy is huh?...lol j/k. When you hold the trailer brake, the brake lights come on don't they? I honestly don't know if they do or not...or even if that would be a problem. Glad it's running now tho

    well holidays suck! lol

I left Amarillo, TX this morning at 7am got to the receiver at 745am. There were 2 LST trucks ahead of me, #1 was the Guy and his GF/Wife that i saw in columbia the morning before we loaded, #2 was the guy i met in sanford, NC (he had also called me about 15 minutes before i got there so see where i was. Anyway #1 went in through the EXIT with the GIANT Exit sign this is of course after he went by the enterance with the big TRUCKS ENTER HERE SIGN lol.

We were delivering to a drop lot for som construction company putting up power lines out here in the sticks (we all had giant crate full of some sort of electrical stuff.

Anyway so they unloaded him backwards, and the guy i met was helping him with his tarps/starps, while i was getting most of my straps off. After they unloaded him he says "oh im just gonna park over there and i'll come help you guys" Ya right dude just took off.

Anyway while i was takeing 6 of 9 straps off, LST truck #4 pulls in behind me. So when #2 pulled into the unloading area, myself and #4 went over helped him take off the bungies/straps/v boards/tarps, and helped him fold them. Then put away all his stuff.

Then i pull into the unload area, and #2 and #4 come over and we all do the same on my load/stuff.

and then again for #4 myself and #2 helped him.

Non of us had a pre-plan and had no where to go, so we all helped eachother and had someone to talk to while the Unloaders figured out how to use there forklift it took them 45 min to unload #1 and he only had 6 crates!

#2 also had to show #1 how to fold his tarps since he didnt know how either, which i guess explains why he took off, he must be a X Door Slamming steering wheel holder:biggrin_25516:

Anyway so after we were all unloaded we all came down to this loves or at least thats what the stupid sign says....They have parking....subway....bathrooms....fuel....store....but no FREAKING showers! which is why i didnt stop here yesterday, so i figure ok whatever lets just go there...I already had a go ahead to go to a truck stop in amarillo but decided to just come here and save my hours, only saved 15 minutes.....:biggrin_25511:

but i was hopeing to get a load so i figured why not just come here for a little bit...well my sub dispatcher the same one i had last tue called to tell me the same thing "call your dispatcher in the morning, but if i get anything for you i'll call you...."

so then i was like ####! i knew i shoulda went to amarillio! lol oh well.

Right now im sitting on the end of my trailer, with my laptop, posting on the forum....enjoying the 66* weather while it last, and enjoying the nice quite view of the flat BFE TX landscape lol

    See:

this is why i love this...with a van or reefer what you gonna do sit inside the trailer and stare at the walls and sweat.....nope tried that no fun. But i have a 48' Back Porch.....wheres my grill? oh thats right stupid me forgot to buy one lol oh well....

P.S see the old timey , metel wind mill thing in the middle wayyy off in the distance
